I may have not liked the film as much as I wanted to, but one thing I really did like about the film is the visual style. Well it looks like a lot more blue and green screens were involved in achieving that visual style than I had even thought. I mean this video is just astounding. It reveals so much of the what we thought were real locations in the film were not at all.

On July 3^rd, The Lone Ranger comes riding into theaters, and if you want a sneak peak at a clip before that happens, I’ve got one right here for you.

And I still don’t know what to make of this film, but I’ve decided to go to the theater and enjoy it for what it is, which is likely silly, almost senseless, low plot, high action fun. And based on this clip, well, see for yourself the senseless part. But fun non-the-less.

This film could be a fun fantasy flick. I still need to see the first one, which I plan to do before this film comes out. It does have Nathan Fillion in it, which is always fun, and apparently it also has Stanley Tucci, which nearly makes it a must see.

For those who don’t know, 100 days is a longer-than-average time to shoot a film, and Webb finished it off with a flourish by posting a brief video of Andrew Garfield perched atop a building, looking over the city.  Take that, random citizen with a cell phone camera.

Yada yada. I really don’t care about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but I know some of you, my dear readers do, and so I suffer through and post stuff about it for you. So here you go. Here’s the video:

Pacific Rim is coming and we can either go big or go home I guess. I’ve been a little hesitant about this film, I haven’t seen a lot before this to indicate that there may be something more than smash ‘em crash ‘em robot stuff. But this trailer does do a little bit more to add a human element to it, for me at least. Or maybe I’m just in an accepting mood right now.

Yes, this is from May 10. I’m a little behind the times. This highlights the fact that I’m not actually subscribed to these videos in any meaningful way (like RSS) so I can be aware when new ones come out. I must fix that.

Anyway, this was pretty good and though I liked the film, this does highlight some of the problems I had with the end fo the film. And, as usual, it’s funny. I always thought the end of that film was just a little problematic — both the way Jack got onto the alien ship thing, and the fact that only one of the other ones showed up.
