Hey, that’s not good! We need you, Han!

‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ And ‘22 Jump Street’ Will Battle for the Box Office This weekend

‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ And ‘22 Jump Street’ Will Battle for the Box Office This weekend
Brent Lang — Variety

It’s a sequel slugfest at the multiplexes this weekend as “How to Train Your Dragon 2″ and “22 Jump Street” battle for No. 1 at the box office.

Both films will capitalize on residual goodwill for the first installments in their respective franchises, and they should benefit from very different moviegoing audiences.

Adults will flock to see undercover cops Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum hang out with college spring-breakers in the R-rated “22 Jump Street,” while families will scurry to check out a hapless Viking and his fire-breathing friend in the PG-rated “How to Train Your Dragon…

Jon Favreau Talks About the Possibility of Robert Downey Jr. Returning For ‘Iron Man 4’

Jon Favreau Talks About the Possibility of Robert Downey Jr. Returning For ‘Iron Man 4’

As far as I’m concerned, Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man, and Iron man is Robert Downey Jr. Maybe at some point in the future there can be another actor to take up the mantle, but right now I’m not interested in any version of Iron Man that does not include RDJ. So with that in mind, Jon Favreau, who of course directed the first two Iron Man films, was asked about the possbility of a fourth film featuring RDJ. He spoke possitively of the idea and I tend to agree with him. What’s more, I’d sort of like to see Favreau back at the helm Shane Black did okay with Iron Man 3, but I’d like to see…

‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ “Retaliate” TV Spot

‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ “Retaliate” TV Spot

The Planet of the Apes franchise is an interesting one. I watched the Mark Wahlberg installment and really didn’t like it. This kind of turned me off of the franchise even though the 2011 version was a complete reboot. I just couldn’t bring myself to watch it.

But I finally did watch it and it was okay. Not super great, but not terrible. So with all that said, I have no particular fondness for this franchise and am not extremely excited for the upcoming film, but I’m mildly interested.

So, if you’re slightly interested like me, or more interested, here’s a TV spot for you.

‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Coming To A Theater Near You

‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ Coming To A Theater Near You
Kevin Jagernauth — The Playlist

As we’ve discussed before, turning a popular video game into a halfway decent movie tends to be a hit or (mostly) miss affair in Hollywood. Nintendo franchise “Super Mario Brothers” probably still has the trophy for being a shining example of how wrong things can get, but even this year’s “Need For Speed” showed that there can be a disconnect between the button-mashing audience and those that buy tickets for the multiplex. But nevertheless, Sony is undaunted by the challenge because they are bringing one of the most iconic video game characters ever to the big screen.

Deadline reports that…

Alamo Drafthouse Bans Google Glass

Alamo Drafthouse Bans Google Glass
Angie Han — /Film

Add Google Glass to the Alamo Drafthouse‘s long list of no-nos. The Texas-based chain has officially banned the wearable devices in auditoriums “once lights dim for trailers.” While many of its rules are designed to minimize distractions for all moviegoers, CEO Tim Leaguesays the Google Glass ban has to do with piracy issues.

I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this one. In general, I do love the Alamo Drafthouse’s no tollerance policy on talking, texting, etc. during films. But this feels a little different. I’m not planning on having Google Glass. Ever. But I do think it’s a…

“Peg Leg” Clip From ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’

“Peg Leg” Clip From ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’

I was blown away by How To Train Your Dragon, so consequently I’m soaking up all the previews and stuff coming up from the upcoming How To Train Your Dragon 2. I’ve heard good things from pre-screenings and everyone is pretty happy and/or excited about it.

I’m acutally also listening to the score by John Powell as I write this. Believe me guys, I don’t think we’ll want to miss this one.

Here’s the clip:

Time To Start Over

Time To Start Over

Listen in as Chad and TJ live the same day over, and over, and over, and over. But it’s worth it since the film they are discussing was fantastic. Edge of tomorrow may have been about reseting the day every single time, but it was anything but boring. It was in fact energetic and lively; and a lot of fun. Other topics of fun and discussion include the ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ soundtrack, ‘Pacific Rim 2’, Alamo Drafthouse Banning Google Glass, ‘The Boxtrolls’ trailer, an upcoming ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ film, and the upcoming Disney Lion King straight-to-TV movie, ‘The Lion Guard’.

Edge of Tomorrow — Review

4 of 5 stars
Edge of Tomorrow

It sounds a little dull — Tom Cruise repeating the same day over and over and over and over and over… and over again. But you must trust me, this film is anything but dull.

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen a good Doug Liman film. He is, of course, best known for The Bourne Identity which is indeed quite excellent. His next installment is a film many loved but which I did not love all that much: Mr. and Mrs. Smith. It was okay as far as it goes — a little crass and gruesome, but decent enough for what it was. And a lot of people like Jumper which I have not seen. Bourne was in 2002,…
