‘Snow White’ Sequel Aiming for 2015

‘Snow White’ Sequel Aiming for 2015
Kevin Jagernauth - The Playlist

Collider reveals that Universal Pictures chairman Adam Fogelson revealed that the studio is aiming the much discussed “Snow White And The Huntsman” for a 2015 release. While the movie wasn’t a mega sized smash hit, it still collected nearly $400 million worldwide, and perhaps more importantly: when you have a movie with Bella and Thor in it, you don’t toss it out without some serious consideration. There were a lot of rumors last summer about Kristen Stewart being dropped from the sequel following the semi-scandal regarding her relationship with director Rupert Sandersbut last we heard,…

Stanley Tucci Joins ‘Transformers 4’

Stanley Tucci Joins ‘Transformers 4’
Nick Martin - FilmoFilia

Director Michael Bay delivered a few pieces of news last night at CinemaCon, revealing that he’ll shoot the big showcase scenes in Transformers 4 with the new IMAX 3D digital camera and that Stanley Tucci will join the cast.

Bay was reportedly very excited to have Company You Keep star Tucci onboard the movie, which will star Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Nicola Peltz, as well as another mysterious young actor that Bay teased will be announced very shortly.

At this time, nothing has been revealed about Tucci’s character.

Why? Why, oh why, oh why would such a fine actor join the…

Joss Whedon Talks - ‘Avengers 2’ Fun

Joss Whedon Talks - ‘Avengers 2’ Fun

Joss Whedon’s The Avengers was the biggest movie of 2012. It brought in a domestic total of $623.3 Million, and a worldwide total of $1.5 Billion. Yes that’s with a “B”, and yes, you are reading that right. It made $888.4 Million overseas. It’s a little crazy, right?

So it’s no surprise that everyone is excited about The Avengers 2, and the Marvel universe in general. Everyone is always begging Joss Whedon to throw us some juicy details about the upcoming film. Of course he can’t tell us much, both contractually, and as a good story teller. Who wants to spoil all the fun, right?

But…

The “S” Stands for Hope? - New ‘Man of Steel’ Trailer

The “S” Stands for Hope? - New ‘Man of Steel’ Trailer

Talk about a week for epic trailers! Yesterday just before lunch (for me anyway in the Central Time Zone), Star Trek Into Darkness released the last big, and quite epic, trailer before that film hits theaters. Then late yesterday, what is presumably the last big, and also epic, trailer for Man of Steel hit the internet leaving fans breathless. It certainly whet my appetite pretty good, and as much of an apologist as I am for Superman Returns, and as irritated as I am for yet another reboot, this trailer sufficiently did it’s job to get me excited to see what Zack Snyder and Christopher…

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Final Trailer

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Final Trailer

Okay. Alright. Here we go. I’ve watched it once and I’m about to watch it again and analyze it a little more slowly. One thing is for sure, it looks like Kirk is/has made a serious mistake (or two) and some miscalculations, which is unusual for Kirk as we’ve always known him before. But this is still telling the story of how he became Kirk I suppose you would say.

This certainly looks epic, and okay, it’s Star Trek so I’m excited in spite of myself. TrekMovie.com (Anthony Pascale) is working on a shot by shot analysis right now and I’m looking forward to that as I always do.

I hope this…

Our “Jiving Jackalope” Reviews Podcatcher Options

Our “Jiving Jackalope” Reviews Podcatcher Options
Joe Darnell - Jiving Jackalope

These days podcast apps are abundant. Heck, you don’t need an app to listen to podcasts. Many people will discover podcasts online, then stream them from their web browser. This works, but I find it a flimsy way to digest content.

When you scout sites online for good podcasts it’s difficult to track them for new episodes as they become available. Apart from bookmarking those sites and visiting them weekly, there’s no realistic way to track them. So, the easy listening experience is to be had in an app dedicated to aggregating audio programs.

General Zod Wants Superman

General Zod Wants Superman

Apparently transmissions from Krypton get a little garbled by the time they get to earth as this video demonstrates. And unless we give up “Kal-El” I guess earth is toast. Seems like a no brainer, Superman should turn himself in.

Something else interesting: a site has popped up online with the same sort of fuzzy static that appears to be counting down in Kryptonian. It is: IWillFindHim.com. Kind of interesting. I wonder what they have planned.

Check out General Zod’s threat.

“Canceling the Apocalypse” With ‘Pacific Rim’ International TV Spot

“Canceling the Apocalypse” With ‘Pacific Rim’ International TV Spot

Get ready to get your mindless action flick on, because that’s what I expect Pacific Rim to be. Bolstering my opinion in this regard is the 30 second international TV spot that really tells us to expect nothing more than a lot of action and robots and stuff.

This Guillermo del Toro film will open in theaters on July 12, 2013, and stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke and Diego Klattenhoff. I only recognize one name in that list, and he’s not a huge player…

‘The Heat’ - “Good Cop/Bad Cop” Clip

‘The Heat’ - “Good Cop/Bad Cop” Clip

Melissa McCarthy knows how to interrogate a suspect in The Heat. You throw “the book” at him!

This film has the potential to be good, funny, goofy, with a side of character development. But I was burned by the last Melissa McCarthy film I saw (my first introduction to her) so I’m a little gun-shy. But, I often like Sandra Bullock’s films so maybe this will be good. There is the potential. But there’s also so much that could go wrong with this film. The only thing for it is to wait and see.
