Newest Trailer for ‘Iron Man 3’

Newest Trailer for ‘Iron Man 3’

Here it is, the latest trailer for Iron Man 3, opening on May 3rd. I’m excited for this film and I can’t wait. It looks dark and menacing, but it also looks to have Tony Stark humor as well. What’s more important is that it looks like a far better film than Iron Man 2 was.

Particularly interesting to me is the way the scenes unfold in the trailer that lead up to this statement:

No politics here, just good old fashioned revenge

Of course, trailers can be cut together in deceiving ways and all that, but what does Tony Stark want revenge for? I have a theory, but I don’t want to spoil…

‘Tomb Raider’ Reboot Film with Younger Lara Croft

‘Tomb Raider’ Reboot Film with Younger Lara Croft
Variety

If it worked for Batman and James Bond, why not Lara Croft?

When the producers behind the now 17-year-old “Tomb Raider” videogame franchise considered options to breathe new life into the series, they turned to movies like Christopher Nolan’s “Batman Begins” and 007 adventure “Casino Royale” for inspiration.

The result is the simply titled reboot “Tomb Raider,” out today through Square Enix, that introduces a younger Croft (now 21) and sends her off on her first big adventure. The action and setpieces are amped up; the graphics are slicker to cater to a younger generation of…

‘Epic’ Skippables (Promo Clips for ‘Epic’)

‘Epic’ Skippables (Promo Clips for ‘Epic’)

I haven’t said much about the upcoming film Epic yet. It’s an animated film about a teenage girl who finds herself transported by magic into a secret universe in which she must join forces with a rag-tag band of whimsical characters to save their world and ours. I’m skeptical but it may be fun.

EPIC is a 3D CG action-adventure comedy that reveals a hidden world unlike any other. From the creators of ICE AGE and RIO, EPIC tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good who keep the natural world alive and the forces of evil who wish to destroy it. When a…

Joss Whedon Teases about ‘Avengers 2’

Apparently, we’re going to be digging in to the characters, and there’s going to be spectacle, and Joss is really excited about the film… who knew, right?

Not much to this one, but we’ve now got confirmation that Halle Berry will once again wear a platinum wig to play the mutant Storm for director Bryan Singer in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Other cast members from the original X-Men cast assembled by Singer are returning for the director’s new chapter, including Patrick StewartIan McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Pageand Anna Paquin. Berry has been rumored for a while, along with other potential returnees James Marsden and Famke Janssen. Those last two are not confirmed at this point.

All I have to say about this one is, good. I want…

DreamWorks and ‘Robin Hood’

DreamWorks and ‘Robin Hood’
Deadline

As New Line today opens Jack The Giant Slayer and Disney readies next week’s Oz The Great And Powerful, Hollywood’s infatuation with revisionist fairy tales shows no signs of abating. DreamWorks jumped into the fray last night by closing a mid-six figure against seven-figure deal for Merry Men, a pitch for a film that will be scripted by Brad Ingelsby with Act Of Valor co-director Scott Waugh attached to direct. Neal Moritz will produce through his Original Film banner. Waugh will also be a producer through his Bandito Bros shingle and Toby Ascher will be exec producer.

I’m told that the…

‘Hannibal’ Teaser with Mads Mikkelsen

‘Hannibal’ Teaser with Mads Mikkelsen

Hannibal is not really my thing. I watched a couple of the Anthony Hopkins installments, didn’t really like them. But I figured it was my duty to do so.

Now cometh a TV show about Hannibal Lecter. I’m not at all certain it is my duty to watch this one. But if Hannibal is your thing, feel free to go right ahead and watch it when it comes out.

Here’s the teaser trailer for the upcoming show staring Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale) as Lecter, as well as Laurence Fishburne, Gina Torres, Gillian Anderson, Eddie Izzard and Ellen Greene, with Caroline Dhavernas and Lance Henriksen.

‘Game of Thrones’ Director Shrugs Off Piracy

‘Game of Thrones’ Director Shrugs Off Piracy
The Verge

At the Perth Writer’s Festival this past weekend, Game of Thrones director David Petrarca downplayed the threat of piracy to the show’s success, saying that illegal downloads don’t matter since shows thrive on “cultural buzz.” As The Sydney Morning Herald reports, Petrarca shrugged when a panel mediator noted that Game of Thrones was the most pirated show of 2012; the show was downloaded about 3.9 million times per episode, which was more than a million downloads per episode more than the second-most pirated show How I Met Your Mother. “That’s how they survive,” he said.

On the one hand…
