I have to admit that I am very partial to the score for Superman the Movie. That said, I also liked Hans Zimmer’s Man of Steel score in some ways and in parts, but on the whole I felt it quite lacking and not up to the same standard of other films that he’s scored. I mean, just listen to those themes back to back and tell me John Williams original isn’t by far the superior, I dare you!

Liam Neeson is willing to star in ‘Taken 3’ for a large sum of money. ‘World War Z’ originally had a different, and from the sound of it, far worse ending. Christian Bale will not appear as Batman in ‘Justice League’. Boba Fett originally appeared in a screen test in a video from 1978. Chad also wrote a short review of ‘World War Z’ and TJ wrote a review of ‘White House Down’, then they talked about both of those films on episode 50 of ‘The MovieByte Podcast’. Thursday was Independence Day and not a lot was happening on that day. And of course, TJ runs down the list of films that are currently in theaters and gives you opinions on which ones to watch.

Gather your minions and hide the moon! This weekend Gru is back baby! Of course, also in theaters, Captain Jack Sparrow will be playing an indian named Tonto who aids a ranger, a lone ranger no less, who must wear a mask to serve justice, or some such thing. Whatever, one thing is for sure, the film is not really about the lone ranger or Armie Hammer, it’s about Captain Jack Sparrow! Duh!

I’m not sure whether I’m going to see this or The Long Ranger tonight. They are both equally tied for the “meh” classification in my mind. I saw the first one…

Last week, images of this set leaked and we asked the question ”Is This The ‘Dark Knight’ Trilogy Ultimate Collectors Edition Blu-ray Box Set?” The answer turns out to be…kind of. The official set, seen above, has now been revealed and it shares many features with last week’s images along with a few treats all its own. (Which suggests either those images were an international or preliminary version of the set). The real set is scheduled for release September 24 with an MSRP of $99.97.

I have a confession to make: I am not a fan of the original Wizard of Oz. You know, the beloved classic featuring Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Jack Haley, Billie Burke, and Margaret Hamilton. Additionally, I do not like 3D films. So I approach this trailer with a sort of “so what?” attitude.

But even so, I found myself wanting to see the film again — oh, not in 3D, but I realized it has been many, MANY years since I have seen this film. I grew up watching it, it’s part of my childhood. So even though I don’t care for it, I may have to watch it again. The trailer…

If there’s one upcoming show I’m excited for, it’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. Since Fringe ended, my life has had no meaning. I wander around listlessly muttering questions like, “Why did it end? What is my life about? Is anything worth it? Does it all make sense?”

In movie news, Pixar promises more original stories, Peter Jackson talks about releasing an extended ‘The Hobbit’, Julianne Moore is cast to play President Coin, Liam Neeson will star in ‘Taken 3’ for a large sum, Christian Bale will not appear again as Batman, and Goldblum and Pullman are in for ‘Independence Day 2’. The main reviews for this episode are ‘World War Z’ and ‘White House Down’, Both enjoyable films, both rated well enough by your hosts. ‘White House Down’ was a bit more enjoyable to TJ, while ‘World War Z’ was slightly more enjoyable to Chad.

Not a lot is going on in the movie news today. That makes it kind of hard to find news and stuff. But that’s okay because it’s a holiday. I’m guessing most of my readers are in the U.S., but for those of you that are not, today is the day we celebrate the independence of the United States. We do all kinds of crazy things like set off dangerous fireworks, grill hotdogs that are ostensibly made of meat, and the like. Unfortunately for me, it’s raining here in Nashville, makes for kind of a soggy 4^th, but I’m sure we’ll make the best of it.

Well, I can’t say that someone is holding a gun to my head and forcing me to post this trailer, but I wish that were the case, then I would feel better about the fact that I’m posting something this silly. But, you know, I feel like I should let you guys know about this film.
