Alison Brie, Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson and Nick Offerman have joined the previously announced Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Chris Pratt and Morgan Freeman to the Warner Bros and Village Roadshow’s Lego feature 3D film, Lego: Piece of Resistance.

Pratt is voice-starring as Emmet, a regular Lego mini-figure who is mistakenly identified as the key to saving the world, the mythical Master Builer. He’s drafted into a quest to stop an evil tyrant – but he’s not ready.

Wait, Wait, WAIT! Is this a thing? Is there *really* a LEGO movie being made?

Dwarves Beat Vampires and British Spies

Dwarves Beat Vampires and British Spies
Film.com

James Bond and Bella Swan just got beat up by a bunch of dwarves.

Online tickets are now available for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” (in no less than five different screening formats) and so far it looks like pretty much everyone on the planet is getting ready for a return trip to Middle-earth.

Tickets went on sale on Wednesday this week and Bilbo and friends are already shattering records. The film accounted for 33% of the day’s sales on Fandango, knocking “Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ off the top spot, which had been at No. 1 since Oct. 1.

Well, what do you know about that?

Jeffrey Donovan Talks ‘Burn Notice’

Jeffrey Donovan Talks ‘Burn Notice’
TV Line

The USA Network series unspools the final eight episodes of Season 6 starting this Thursday at 9/8c, with a double-header. When last we tuned in, Michael — stranded in Panama with Sam, Fi, Jesse and sketchy sniper Tyler Gray (played by Kenny Johnson) — had just gleaned that his CIA mentor, Tom Card (John C. McGinley), had set him up to die, and nearly succeeded in that endeavor.

Coming out of that, “You’ll see a more hell-bent Michael,” Donovan previews. “The relationship that Michael has with Gray and Card is going to turn Michael down a path that leads even Sam to question Michael’s…

Budweiser is not happy with ‘Flight

Budweiser is not happy with ‘Flight
Indie Wire: The Playlist

Anheuser-Busch is requesting that Paramount Pictures “obscure or remove” the Budweiser logo from “Flight.” Of course, Paramount doesn’t have to comply, as filmmakers don’t have to get permission to feature products in their films. And while product placment is routine in Hollywood movies, it’s easy to see why Robert Zemeckis and Co. didn’t bother giving the booze makers a heads-up (“Hey guys, we’re making a movie about an alcoholic, want a six pack in there?!”). But the Budweiser brewers aren’t the only ones furrowing their brow; the dudes over at William Grant & Sons are not pleased…

S.H.I.E.L.D. Reported to Start Production in January

S.H.I.E.L.D. Reported to Start Production in January
Indie Wire: The Playlist

The “S.H.I.E.L.D.” series is moving along with fan favorite Clark Gregg back in action and TV veteran Ming-Na Wen (“ER” and “SGU Stargate Universe”) recently coming on board, and now there’s a start date on the horizon. According to Variety’s Marc Graser, the Joss Whedon produced series will start shooting in January. We presume that this means it will be aimed as an addition to the fall 2013 TV lineup on ABC (owned by Disney).

You can be sure this is one TV show I will be adding to my watch list.

Revolution’s Kripke Teases Blackout Answer

Revolution’s Kripke Teases Blackout Answer
Entertainment Weekly

“We’re talking very seriously about revealing [what caused the blackout] before end of this season,” Kripke tells EW.  The answer is something that’s passed muster from a physicist consulted by the producers. So expect what caused the blackout to be at least somewhat scientifically plausible.

“The sweet spot is to find an answer that’s actually scarier than what you were thinking,” Kripke says. “Like, ‘Oh wait, this is not even just about electricity.’ And that’s what we’re designing. I don’t see any reason to withhold it much longer.”

Fringe fans, clear your calendars: Jan. 18, 2036 2013 is when it all comes to an end.

The Fox drama announced Friday that its final two episodes — one of which is the series’ 100th — will air back-to-back starting at 8/7c on that day.

This is what I look like when I’m sad… This show really deserved at least couple more seaons.

Lucas Will Donate $4 Billion to Charity?

Lucas Will Donate $4 Billion to Charity?
Mashable

Most of the $4 billion that George Lucas will get from his sale of Lucasfilm to Disney will go to to charitable initiatives, according to a report.

The bulk of the cash will fund “a foundation which will primarily focus on educational issues,” a Lucasfilm rep told The Hollywood Reporter. “George Lucas has expressed his intention, in the event the deal closes, to donate the majority of the proceeds to his philanthropic endeavors,” the rep added.

Lucas heads up the George Lucas Educational Foundation, which includes Edutopia. In 2006, the foundation donated $175 million to USC, Lucas’…

An Older Luke Skywalker

An Older Luke Skywalker
Indie Wire: The Playlist

However, the part that will get “Star Wars” fans excited is that Pollock says the stories feature Luke Skywalker in his 30s or 40s. “They will need an older Luke Skywalker,” he says. So, sorry, probably no Mark Hamill.

Of course, whether this is accurate or not, or if Lucas scrapped that idea and came up with something else, remains to be seen. But it’s pretty easy to see why Disney would be excited by the prospect of Luke Skywalker featuring in a brand new “Star Wars” trilogy. And all of this seems to suggest that the “original story” will indeed be a continuation of “Star Wars: Episode…
