Talking to David Goyer, screenwriter for Man of Steel:

When pushed on the possibility of the Justice League movie following on directly from Man of Steel he elaborated,

It would be disingenuous to say Warner Bros doesn’t hope that this would be the starting point for a shared universe. And Zack has said that Bruce Wayne exists in this universe. It would be a different Bruce Wayne from Chris’ [Nolan] Dark Knight trilogy, and it would be disingenuous to say that Zack and I haven’t had various conversations on set, around ‘what if’ and ‘moving forward’.

“He is Iron Man,” Whedon told The Daily Beast. “He is Iron Man in the way that Sean Connery was James Bond. I have no intention of making ‘Avengers 2’ without him, nor do I think I’ll be called upon to do that. You know what? We think everything will be fine too, for the simple fact that no one is going to want to see “The Avengers 2” without Iron Man/Tony Stark or with someone like, I dunno, Paul Walker subbing in there instead.

While rumors have the movie being released in 2015, as of now, no director is officially attached, and no one is sure if the movie would work without introducing the other characters in their own movies first (like Marvel did before The Avengers).  So when I sat down with Snyder a few hours ago at the Los Angeles Man of Steel junket, I asked his thoughts the Justice League movie and if that would get his attention before a Man of Steel sequel.

“I feel like you need to get Superman a little further down the road before you can do a Justice League movie.”

We’re not far away now, but the studio and producers keep dropping little bits of new scenes from the film. I wonder how much of the film we could cut together from everything that’s been released so far?

Well in any event, you’re going to want to have a look at this if you looking forward to this film as I am. Lots of goodies here, as usually lots of glimpses at the film footage that we have already seen, and some that we have not.

The chase for more info about a film before it’s release, and yet trying to keep from being spoiled by the big reveals is always lots of fun!

Spider-Man returning to the Marvel universe has been a hot topic for many years, and now reports are in that he may be headed back soon if Sony’s financial troubles aren’t alleviated.

Since Marvel’s The Avengers crushed box office records last year, the discussion concerning Spider-Man’s character rights has been brought back into the mix. For those who don’t know, the Spider-Man character is owned by Sony, and while we saw the reboot, The Amazing Spider-Man, become successful back in July, Sony’s financial troubles continue to haunt them.

If you aren’t in the loop, here is where you can catch up on all the upcoming Marvel movies. “Phase Two” as the studio is calling it, continues the adventures of the quintessential Avengers and introduces new super-heroes to cinemas, like Ant-man, and this suspicious-looking, gun-carrying raccoon. If my guess is right, the animal is a character in Guardians of the Galaxy, and I haven’t the faintest idea what that story is about besides what it implies.

Ant-Man comes to theaters November 6th, 2015. The film is directed by Edgar Wright.

The Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. banned together to bring to you the most marvel-ous Blu-ray set in epic home entertainment. (No, they didn’t really, But Marvel/Sony has, and it sounds great for super-hero fans.)

DC Comics is still competing with Marvel to see which of their movie studios can produce the most insane number of super-hero films for the decade. A director very popular with geeks, Guillermo Del Toro has reported big things for another super-film in the works that introduces the “dark side” of DC’s Justice League:

After being prodded about his attachment Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s “Justice League Dark,” Del Toro announced the next film he’ll likely shoot is “Crimson Peak,” a turn of the century supernatural thriller.

He mentioned a few specific plot points, most of them idiotic, and the most offensive of these bits takes place in issue #3 - a comic that finds Superman punching his pregnant wife so hard that it kills her and sends her flying into space.
