‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ International Trailer

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ International Trailer

“I was cleaning the chimney Aunt May! Honest that’s what I was doing” LOLZ. Come on! Tobey Maquire Spider-Man could come up with better excuses than that on his worst day!

Well, okay maybe he couldn’t but that’s not going to stop me from hating on nuSpidey. This film looks like it’s going to be just as messy, self important, and stupid as the first Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield is a usurper, that’s all there is to it!

But we might as well get used to the idea of more Amazing Spider-Man because Sony does not seem interested in making a trilogy, or a certain set of films, or whatever.…

‘The Nut Job’ Trailer - An Over the Hedge Wannabe

‘The Nut Job’ Trailer - An Over the Hedge Wannabe

Hey look! It’s kind of like Over the Hedge, but without all the good acting talent or good story behind it. And seriously, what’s with showing the same shot of the squirrel planning the heist like five times? Is this a major selling point of the film? Is there just nothing else to show? Couple a very mediocre trailer with the fact that this film comes out on January 17th of the upcoming new year and I think we can fairly safely assume that this is going to be a fail.

The film boasts voice talent from Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Liam Neeson, Katherine Heigl, and Maya Rudolph. But I don’t…

‘Rio 2’ Trailer

‘Rio 2’ Trailer

This looks mildly entertaining. I have not seen Rio, so I suppose I should probably rectify that. Rio was apparently based on the idea that Blu and Jewel were the only two blue macaws left in the world — or so they thought. So they must meet and mate or their species would die.

As it turns out, they weren’t the only ones left. There’s a whole flock of blue macaws out there, including Jewel’s data Eduardo. Hilarity, apparently, ensues.

‘Agents of SHIELD’ Episode 11 Trailer (Airs January 7)

‘Agents of SHIELD’ Episode 11 Trailer (Airs January 7)

This week we got our mid-season cliff-hanger for Agents of SHIELD, and it looks like when the show returns, we are finally going to get some answers on what happened to Coulson between his “death” in The Avengers, and his weekly appearance in Agents of SHIELD. But don’t take my phrasing for complaining, I’m actually happy with the suspense and the hints that have continually been dropped about what’s been going on with Coulson. I still have my suspicions as to what it might be, and whether I’m right or wrong, I should be happy. And of course there’s the possibility that we still won’t get the…

‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Staring Tom Cruise - First Trailer

‘Edge of Tomorrow’ Staring Tom Cruise - First Trailer

Hey look, it’s another Tom Cruise actiony, sci-fi-ish film. I kid, but in all seriousness, it looks like my kind of film. And let’s do the math here. Jack Reacher: decent. Oblivion: great! Mission Impossible series: All varying degrees of good. Minority Report: Aweome! So, with that kind of math, I’m on board with this film.

It’s not like this premise hasn’t been done before, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done again, and hopefully done well. The idea here is that Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is trapped in a time loop so that he keeps reliving a single day over and over again. Each time it…

Well, he’s coming back. And by “he,” of course, I mean GODZILLA!

Having never seen a Godzilla film…

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Trailer

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Trailer

Well, the day is upon us, the day I once again rail on the rebooted Spider-Man franchise. Doggoneit! Why couldn’t they just let this one rest for a little bit? I hated the first installment in this reboot universe so much it’s impossible for me to put it into words. But, many people apparently liked it so a second one is coming to screens. I cannot tell you just how wrong Andrew Garfield seems for this part. I know Toby Maguire takes a lot of flack, but he seemed like the perfect Peter Parker to me. I don’t hate Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, but that doesn’t make up for anything.

To top off my…

4 Clips from Upcoming ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’

4 Clips from Upcoming ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’

Despite my lack of love for the first installment in The Hobbit story, I’m still looking forward to this quite a bit. And we don’t have long to wait now, just a few days really.

The film opens on December 13th. I have no doubt that it will be long and bloated but I’ll try to enjoy it anyway. To whet our appetites, here are 4 clips from the upcoming film.

A Clip from the Upcoming ‘Veronica Mars’ Film

A Clip from the Upcoming ‘Veronica Mars’ Film

I have never seen a single episode of the TV show but a lot of people sure loved it. And I loved that they went and got crowd funding to put more of something people apparently loved on the screen. While I don’t know anything about the show I can appreciate that. And I can also appreciate that there’s definitely some sarcastic humor going on in this clip — almost (but maybe not quite) of the Joss Whedon sort.

The film was shot in 23 days and is in post production now. It features the same cast returning from the TV show. Veronica returns to her hometown of Neptune, California, after 10 years…

‘300: Rise of an Empire’ Trailer 2

‘300: Rise of an Empire’ Trailer 2

I’m probably not in a great position to speak to this trailer or the 300 franchise in general just yet since I have not seen the first one. This is a problem I intend to rectify before this second film comes out, although given my schedule right now I don’t know when that will be.

I’ll tell you this though, this looks like it’s a film about slow motion — and lots of it. Seriously, this film and its predecessor look like extremely stylized films. This can be done well, or it can be done poorly. This second installment is written by Zack Snyder, who directed the first film and Man of…
