‘Emperor’ Trailer (Tommy Lee Jones and Mathew Fox)

‘Emperor’ Trailer (Tommy Lee Jones and Mathew Fox)

Lost meets Men in Black or something like that.

No, seriously, this does look like it could be good. Staring Tommy Lee Jones as General Douglas MacArthur, who’s name speaks for itself, and Mathew Fox, who I know from Lost and that’s pretty much it. I reckon that’s his claim to fame. But I have had no complaints with his acting abilities there so I’m not worried.

Here’s the quick synopsis from IMDb:

As the Japanese surrender at the end of WWII, Gen. Fellers is tasked with deciding if Emperor Hirohito will be hanged as a war criminal. Influencing his ruling is his quest to find Aya, an…

‘RED 2’

‘RED 2’

Oh man! RED was so much fun! I’m really looking forward to this one. And it looks like we’re bringing in even more talent to the party. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Anthony Hopkins will be joining the cast.

This looks like it will have all the first film’s mix of comedy, and drama, and more comedy. That’s not a bad thing.

Of course, returning to their roles are Bruce Willis as Frank Moses, Mary-Louise Parker as Sarah Ross, Helen Mirren as Victoria, and John Malkovich as Marvin Boggs. RED 2 open August 2nd.

Let’s take another look at Chris Pine who plays Jack Ryan in an upcoming Kenneth Branagh‘s action thriller! Well, to be honest, it’s not all about Pine (and his bike) this time, ’cause we also have another look at Kevin Costner‘s William Harper & we (finally) have a chance to check out Keira Knightley who plays Cathy Ryan in the whole thing! Make sure you check out these images in the rest of this report & let us know what you think!

Yeah, yeah, I know it’s just images of actors on set. But I’m sort of excited about this upcoming film, and in the absense of any other news about it, this…

‘Gremlins’ Reboot?

‘Gremlins’ Reboot?
FilmoFilia

Sooner or later every pig gets eaten and every single film is going to get a remake or gritty reboot eventually. Now, it’s Gremlins turn!

Back in December, MovieHole reported that Warner Bros. had renewed the domain for Gremlins3.com which, if nothing else, supports the studios interest in keeping the franchise alive.

This time Vulture reports the studio is negotiating with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment to reboot the 1984 horror comedy Gremlins, which was originally directed by Joe Dante.

It is not known whether or not it would be a true sequel or, more likely, a reboot…

Russell Crowe Talks ‘Broken City’ and ‘Man of Steel’

Russell Crowe Talks ‘Broken City’ and ‘Man of Steel’

I care more about this for the Man of Steel info than Broken City, but at the same time, I’ll be seeing Broken City so it’s interesting too.

But there’s a lot we just don’t know about Man of Steel yet. That’s to be expected with Christopher Nolan involved I suppose. I mean even the trailers so far have not given us a lot of actual substance. And we certainly don’t know a lot about Krypton and Russell Crowe’s Jor-El in this film yet. This will mark the first time on the big screen an actor besides Marlon Brando has played Superman’s papa. Even in Superman Returns, they pulled out some…

‘Pirates 5’ In Production

‘Pirates 5’ In Production
FilmoFilia

Just a quick update for all rum-lovers out there: Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is definitely coming, and Jeff Nathanson will be penning the script for the fifth movie! In case you’re not so familiar with Nathanson’s work, let us right here remind you that this guy is responsible for Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can and The Terminal as well. Guess that should be enough for the beginning?

Unfortunately, that’s basically all we know about this project. At this moment – no director is attached to the project, plot details are still unknown, and, beside Johnny Depp (who is definitely set to…

‘Die Hard 5’ Headed for “R” Rating

‘Die Hard 5’ Headed for “R” Rating
/Film

The Die Hard films are known for a couple things, but one of the prime characteristics of the first three films was the foul mouth of hero John McClane. The guy can’t go three scenes without dropping a few f-bombs. Until the fourth film, Live Free or Die Hard, that is. That one came in with a PG-13 rating, and the necessary change in language was one reason the film didn’t feel much like a Die Hard movie. Bruce Willis was in it, but he was playing some guy other than John McClane.

Now we’ve got a reliable source that says the fifth picture, February’s A Good Day to Die Hard, is likely to…

‘Jurassic Park IV’ Releases June of 2014

‘Jurassic Park IV’ Releases June of 2014
IGN.com

Universal announced today that it has slated Jurassic Park IV for a June 13, 2014 release.

Right now it only looks like Steven Spielberg will produce JPIV, although as Variety notes the director’s recent postponement of Robopocalypse raises an interesting possibility: “Spielberg has not committed to another film but given that Jurassic Park 4 is now the fast track, its not out of the question that he would step back in the directors chair.”

Abrams on ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ 3D

Abrams on ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ 3D
/Film

Before filming began on the sequel to the 2009 hit Star Trek, we posted multiple articles showing Abrams’ aversion to 3D. He said he had nothing against it but it never really sold him and suggested he didn’t want to make Into Darkness in 3D. Soon after, it was revealed the film would be shot in 2D and post-converted, which gave fans a lot to worry about. The question became, “what happened?”

...

The studio said, ‘You have to make it in 3D if you’re going to make it, for economic reasons.’ But my feeling was I didn’t like 3D. So the idea of doing Star Trek in 3D was ridiculous. But…
