Some Action from ‘Thor 2’

Some Action from ‘Thor 2’

Here’s a video via Splash News showing some on-set action from Thor 2.

I’m pretty hopeful that this will be a far better film than the first Thor film. But I repeat myself.

Anyway, enjoy.

‘Pirates 5’ In Production

‘Pirates 5’ In Production
Slash Film

A fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean was in development long before Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides grossed over $1 billion worldwide. The script was written, and rewritten, but with producer Jerry Bruckheimer off making The Lone Ranger with Gore Verbinski and lots questions pending over who would direct, things had become awfully quiet on the seven seas.

There’s an update later in the article that says:

Disney confirmed that a fifth Pirates film is in development, but says “this story isn’t accurate.”

So the interesting news here to me is that, regardless,…

New ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Trailer

New ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ Trailer
Movie Line

Children of the Nintendo generation, take heed: Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph was made just for you. In addition to setting up a rather compelling hero’s journey for video game character Wreck-It Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) — an arcade villain who goes “game-hopping” to reinvent himself as the good guy — the animated adventure stuffs in more Gen X/Y video game references than you can count. Who will weep for Bowser as he gives his testimony at AA for baddies!?

This really looks like a lot of fun actually. I’m getting a little tired of the major studios going down nostalgia lane, but I’ll…

‘Independence Day’ Sequels

‘Independence Day’ Sequels
Slash Film

The pair are still referring to the films as ID Forever Part One and ID Forever Part Two and, in a new interview, Emmerich they’ll likely be shot in 2D and up-converted to 3D. Devlin also said they’re exploring a “lovable” tone as that was one of the surprising things people took out of the original. Read more after the jump.

I was not even aware there was a sequel in the works, let alone two. I’m not a huge fan of the original and I’m not a huge fan of Roland Emmerich. Still, it could be fun.

Hemsworth, Taylor and hundreds of extras are currently filming in England and beautiful set photos have leaked out featuring a massive, massive battle in the woods. After the jump, check out a bunch of the photos, which include what looks to be a new, slimmed down costume.

Be warned that while there’s nothing immediately revealing in these images – Thor fights people, big surprise – they certainly reveal more than some people might want to see and should be considered minor spoilers.

Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’

Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’
Slash Film

Shot in just 12 days while Whedon was finishing up The Avengers, this version retains the Bard’s dialogue but moves the action to contemporary LA. (Specifically, Whedon’s own house.) Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof star as Beatrice and Benedick, acquaintances whose prickly banter signals an obvious compatibility. Other Whedon favorites fill out the rest of the cast: Fran KranzNathan FillionSean Maher, and Clark Gregg. Read more of the early buzz after the jump.

I love how Whedon has a sort of casting pool he draws from. Alexis Denisof and Amy Acker played Wesley Wyndam-Pryce…

If you don’t want to know anything about where some of the footage from Skyfall, the latest James Bond film, fits into the narrative, it’s best to skip this behind the scenes video. Alright, alright, I guess I’m going to have to see these new Bond films. I must admit that I have never been a…

Star Trek Sequel Title Confirmed

Star Trek Sequel Title Confirmed
TrekMovie.com

TrekMovie has confirmed with multiple sources that “Star Trek Into Darkness” has been selected as the title for the 2013 sequel to JJ Abrams’ Star Trek movie. This is a title that comes out of a long process of discussion amongst the creative team. As reported earlier, Paramount tested a number of titles for the film over the summer, including at least one title that did not include “Star Trek.” Also noted in our earlier article, the title (by design) does not include a colon, like were used for the Next Generation films such as “Star Trek: First Contact” or “Star Trek: Nemesis.”

I…
