‘Oblivion’ - New Clips and IMAX Featurette

‘Oblivion’ - New Clips and IMAX Featurette

I don’t think I need to remind you that I am greatly looking forward to this film. And apparently the studio is making a big deal out of this film as well because, wow, I can’t remember the last time I have seen so much promotional material coming out for a film. That can either man this film is really good or really bad and the studio is trying to compensate for it. I choose to believe the former.

The director also directed TRON: Legacy so that gives me great hope for the film because I really liked Legacy.

I’m not going to spoil it for you, but I think I have a good portion of the…

‘Catching Fire’ First Trailer on April 14 (video)

‘Catching Fire’ First Trailer on April 14 (video)

WooHoo! We will see the first trailer for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in just ten days and I’m thrilled to hear that. I enjoyed the first film very much — I rated it 4 of 5 stars in my review. And I enjoyed the book series for the most part and am actually hoping the film series can improve upon some of the weaknesses of the books that crept in (mostly in the last book). Either way, it should be a good ride and I’m looking forward to it.

And below is the teaser trailer announcement teaser. I know Joe hates these, but I find them fun and engaging and a great way to generate buzz so I’m…

Ellen DeGeneres Announces ‘Finding Dory’

Ellen DeGeneres Announces ‘Finding Dory’

Love her or hate her, Ellen DeGeneres is Dory from Finding Nemo. The character just wouldn’t be the same without her. And apparently Ellen has been pushing for a sequel for years. I don’t follow Ellen at all so I didn’t know it, but the video she put together below is pretty funny in showing that.

I just have a couple things to say about all this.

Firstly, I’m starting to worry about Pixar cranking out all these sequels. Well I have mixed feelings on it actually because they’ve cranked out some really good sequels — Toy Story 3 for instance may be one of their best films. At the same…

‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ Trailer 2

‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ Trailer 2

If you are looking for the missing link between Buffy and Twilight, this looks like it might be your thing. I don’t know anything about this series other than what I have seen in the trailers. It could be fun, or it could go horribly wrong.

But one thing is sure, there is no lack of films centered on the paranormal lately.

Set in contemporary New York City, a seemingly ordinary teenager, Clary Fray (Lily Collins), discovers she is the descendant of a line of Shadowhunters, a secret cadre of young half-angel warriors locked in an ancient battle to protect our world from demons. After…

Christoph Waltz Will Star with Amy Adams in ‘Big Eyes’

Christoph Waltz Will Star with Amy Adams in ‘Big Eyes’
Deadline

Tim Burton is going to direct Big Eyes, starring Christoph Waltz and Amy Adams.

Waltz, who’s coming off another Oscar turn in Django Unchained, and Adams, nominated for The Master, will play Margaret and Walter Keane, whose paintings of large eyed children became one of the first mass marketed art sensations in the 50s and 60s. Those prints sold in gas stations and every five and dime store across the country. While Walter was the marketing genius, he also took the bows for doing the brush work. He was a full fledged celebrity, a regular on the TV talk show circuit. His shy wife was the…

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ ‘Walking Dead’ Commercial

Sorry I have been absent for the last couple of days. Joe has been able to post a few things for me, but I miss digging up cool stuff and sharing it with you. I’ll be in and out with family stuff going on, but wanted to start jumping back in the saddle a little bit as I have a moment here and there.

This is something cool I found this past weekend and would have shared it with you at the beginning of the week.

Damon Lindelof tweeted this on the 31st of March:

‘The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug’ First Look Clip

‘The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug’ First Look Clip

OH MY GOODNESS YOU’LL WANT TO SEE THIS!!!!11!! It’s Gandalf and Radagast wondering around in a dark cave!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH.

But seriously it’s kind of cool to see the first clip, I guess. Personally, when I found this I was hoping for a clip of Martin Freeman’s Bilbo with the Ring or something. This is sort of… meh. But it’s something, and that’s… something, I guess.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug opens on December 13, 2013.

The Wolverine - Full Trailers

The Wolverine - Full Trailers

Alright, so after all the teasing, the full trailer is here. Actually two of them — an international trailer and a domestic trailer. Considering that The Wolverine premieres on July 26, the first trailers seem like they are coming sort of late to the party. As comparison, both Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 coming out this summer debuted trailers last year.

But in any event, here are the trailers. I was only able to find the domestic trailer on Apple Trailers which has a terrible embed experience, Click through to see it in HD and the like. The International trailer is from YouTube and looks…

‘Atlas Shrugged’ Part 3

‘Atlas Shrugged’ Part 3
Kevin Jagernauth - The Playlist

It’s been officially announced that “Atlas Shrugged Part 3” will be written by Duncan Scott (who helmed part two, and edited and produced Rand’s film “We The Living”) and Brian O’Toole, and open in 150 markets in summer 2014. Thus far, parts one and two cost between $10-20 million to make each, but only collectively brought in $8 million at the box office, though apparently home video has shown the movie has some life.

Who is John Galt anyway? And I wonder if they are going to entirely recast this film like they did the last one. It’s extremely off-putting. I didn’t mind the cast of the…

‘Oblivion’ Featurette: Sky Tower

‘Oblivion’ Featurette: Sky Tower

Man I am really loving this. The set up in the clouds was not shot on green or blue screen but they used real footage and practical effects. YES! This is the way to do it people! This will give the film so much more a sense of reality, and it will also improve the acting. I don’t care how good an actor is, if he’s acting in front of a green or blue screen, it’s hard to “act” like something is there that’s not there.

It really looks beautiful from here. I can’t wait to see it on the big screen. It’s going to be awesome.

I do so hope they aren’t raising my expectations of this film too…
