Prima Cinema - Watch Films at Home on Release Day
UltraLinkx

If you’re a true cinema lover and are a millionaire, Prima Cinema may be the thing you’ve been waiting for. It is an elite movie service which brings cinema movies straight to the comfort of your own home. So if a new film were just released in the cinema today, instead of going to the cinema, you can watch it at home right now.

Uh huh. So how many smackaroos do you have to put down for this?

What’s the cost for all this? $20,000. The cost just doesn’t stop there though. You have to pay $500 each time you watch a new film too.

I’ll pass, thanks.

‘Ninja Turtles’ are Like ‘The Avengers’ (yeah, right)

‘Ninja Turtles’ are Like ‘The Avengers’ (yeah, right)
/Film

We won’t actually see the Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles until 2014 or so, but in the meantime Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman is keeping the hype machine rolling by naming all sorts of other movies that Ninja Turtles will be like. Among the titles he’s previously name-checked are The Raid: RedemptionFist of Legend, and Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Now he’s also likening Ninja Turtles to The Avengers, in terms of “scope and roots origin.” Lord knows there’s a world of difference between emulating The Avengers and actually being as good as The Avengers, but…

‘Steve Jobs’ Film Screenwriter Reveals Plot

‘Steve Jobs’ Film Screenwriter Reveals Plot
iCreate

Details of the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic have been revealed by its writer, Aaron Sorkin. Sorkin, who has previously penned the likes of The West Wing and The Social Network, has said that the film itself will centre around three scenes, set in real-time of 30 minutes each. The scenes themselves will be set backstage before three major Apple announcements. According to Newsweek CEO Baba Shetty, the three product launches featured in the film would be of the original Macintosh, NeXT and the iPod.

Who knows if this will be any good, but I’ll probably watch it.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Batman - To Be, or Not to Be?

Joseph Gordon-Levitt Batman - To Be, or Not to Be?

Yesterday, I posted a link to the story on HitFix.com that Joseph Gordon-Levitt may be picking up the mantle of Batman for Justice League, and possibly have a cameo in Man of Steel. Personally, though I didn’t say it, I thought that with Nolan involved in Man of Steel, and the fact that he considers Batman all wrapped up, it seems unlikely the cameo in Man of Steel, has any truth to it. But the Justice League thing seemed a possibility.

Well now the movie related Internet is abuzz with news that Gordon-Levitt’s reps have refuted this rumor entirely. Hollywood.com reports:

On Tuesday,…

After lots of speculation, rumors, declines and debunks, Star Wars: Episode VII appears to have finally gotten a director! What happened is, Jason Flemyng confirmed Matthew Vaughn’s involvement in the project while on the red carpet for Seven Psychopaths.

...

On a follow-up question – if Vaughn is interested – Flemyng looks shocked when he realises the journalists don’t know about Vaughn’s involvement…

Oopsie. Well that get’s pretty close to settling it. I thought it sounded pretty…

Life of Pi — Review

3 of 5 stars
Life of Pi

A film adaptation of a supposedly “unfilmable” novel, Ang Lee’s Life of Pi achieves the supposed impossible — it’s an astonishing technical work that’s also emotionally inciting.

Life of Pi is a 2012 American adventure drama film based on Yann Martel’s 2001 novel of the same name. Directed by Ang Lee, the film is based on an adapted screenplay by David Magee, and stars Irrfan Khan, Gérard Depardieu, Tabu, Suraj Sharma, and Adil Hussain. Visual effects are by Rhythm & Hues Studios.

Critics and the public are loving Pi, and this comes at no surprise. The characterization of the zoo…

Veronica Belmont, ‘Looper’ Fact or Fictional?

Veronica Belmont, ‘Looper’ Fact or Fictional?

Veronica Belmont explores the possibilities of time travel and whether Looper could really happen or not. Personally, I put it squarely in the fictional realm and enjoy it on that level, but apparently Veronica’s guest, Dr. Ronald Mallett calls time travel a scientific possibility.

This one is a lot of fun. Enjoy.
