‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Featurette

‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Featurette

There’s not really anything new here, but this is Star Trek and I’m a Star Trek nerd (card carrying member) so I have to post it.

J.J. and a couple of the cast members talking about upping the ante and the like. J.J. thinks its the biggest things he’s done.

Well, this is a bit random, and leaves some questions to be answered but given the general lockdown surrounding anything involving Christopher Nolan, we’ll take what we can get at this point.

The first offiical image of Amy Adams as Lois Lane in “Man Of Steel” has arrived. No, we don’t know why the image, courtesy of Desde Hollywood is in black-and-white, but it does seem as if the Daily Planet has been outfitted with iPads. Will some of Zack Snyder’s film dip into black-and-white sections or if this just a bizarre decision on behalf of the international marketing team behind the…

‘The Heat’ Moves to Summer

‘The Heat’ Moves to Summer
/Film

Fox has already put out a couple of very funny trailers for Paul Feig‘s The Heat, but you’ll want to hold your laughter for now. The picture has just been pushed back from April 5 to June 28, where it’ll face off against Universal’s Kick-Ass 2 and Columbia’s White House Down. That slot has traditionally been a good one for comedies; high grossers likeTedBad Teacher, and Grown Ups have all opened on that same weekend in recent years. The studio has already made it clear that it likes what Feig has delivered, so this date comes across as a vote of confidence.

Raise your hand if you…

Lex Friedman Tries to Cut the Cord

Lex Friedman Tries to Cut the Cord
MacWorld

When the rep came back on the line, she proposed keeping Boost Plus in place but waiving that fee; and upgrading our channel lineup to include the aforementioned movie channels, along with more kids channels and other stations. All at a monthly rate of $90. The entire rate, she said, would be good for one year.

In other words, my cable company’s proposal was this: Instead of me canceling my cable, they’d give me many more channels and have me spend more than $60 less per month than what I’d been paying. The monthly rate of $90, in fact, meant that at this point in the phone call, it…

‘24’ Alum Cast for ‘Revolution’

‘24’ Alum Cast for ‘Revolution’
TV Line

One of 24 crimestopper Jack Bauer’s love interests has landed a role on NBC’s Revolution.

TVLine has learned that Annie Wersching, who played 24 FBI agent Renee Walker, will guest-star on TV’s highest-rated freshman drama as Emma, who was Miles Matheson’s first love — and also the first object of Sebastian Monroe’s obsession. When Emma resurfaces in the current timeline, it sets the stage for a dramatic confrontation between the gentleman frenemies.

Not huge news or anything, but seeing how I’m a fan of the show it’s mildly interesting. Apparently, and I didn’t know this, not being a…

Joss Whedon Dreams of ‘Firefly’ Return

Joss Whedon Dreams of ‘Firefly’ Return
FilmoFilia

He sure is busy with The Avengers sequel and other Marvel Cinematic Universe properties, but Capt. Mal Reynolds, Zoe and the rest of the Firefly crew will always have a special place in Joss Whedon‘s heart. The director says he’d love to return to that world after he’s finished with The Avengers 2.

Speaking to the Toronto Sun, the director stated that he’ll never let hopes of a Firefly resurrection die.

“I’ll never really accept it,” Whedon said. “And I always, in the back of my head, think, ‘What if I could get the old gang back together?’”

In regards to getting the Firefly cast…

The Flare of Abrams

The Flare of Abrams

Heh.

Now this looks more like the visual style we an expect from a J.J. Abrams version of Star Wars. I really hope and pray not, but he seems to steadfastly refuse to acknowledge that he was completely overused a cool effect and let it take over his films.

In any event, this is pretty funny.

In a recent interview with I Am Rogue, the actress discussed the sequel and, more interestingly, the definite possibility for her to appear in Marvel’s TV adaptation of S.H.I.E.L.D.

...

On whether Maria Hill could appear in Joss Whedon-directed S.H.I.E.L.D. small-screen adaptation, Cobie Smulders states,

“The commitments to How I Met Your Mother don’t affect it. And I can’t really say, but there are definite talks about it.”

And:

“Oh yeah! I’m very excited. I will do Maria Hill until they fire me and hire someone else to do it.”

She was one of the more enjoyable…
