I’m going to tell you something, and you’re not going to believe me: The Extended Edition of the first Hobbit film, An Expected Journey, is actually better than its theatrical release. Well, the day is upon us, the day I once again rail on the rebooted Spider-Man franchise. Doggoneit! Why couldn’t they just let this one rest for a little bit? I hated the first installment in this reboot universe so much it’s impossible for me to put it into words. But, many people apparently liked it so a second one is coming to screens. I cannot tell you just how wrong Andrew Garfield seems for this part. I know Toby Maguire takes a lot of flack, but he seemed like the perfect Peter Parker to me. I don’t hate Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, but that doesn’t make up for anything.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” will hit theaters on May 27, 2016, thus kicking off over two years of rumors, speculation and more even before ‘DOFP’ has hit theaters. Hooray? No word on who will direct, but with Bryan Singer getting in on the announcement action it’s probably safe to say he’ll be at least producing if not more.

Despite my lack of love for the first installment in The Hobbit story, I’m still looking forward to this quite a bit. And we don’t have long to wait now, just a few days really.

The film opens on December 13th. I have no doubt that it will be long and bloated but I’ll try to enjoy it anyway. To whet our appetites, here are 4 clips from the upcoming film.

I have never seen a single episode of the TV show but a lot of people sure loved it. And I loved that they went and got crowd funding to put more of something people apparently loved on the screen. While I don’t know anything about the show I can appreciate that. And I can also appreciate that there’s definitely some sarcastic humor going on in this clip — almost (but maybe not quite) of the Joss Whedon sort.
