A Little Taste of Home

A Little Taste of Home

TJ and Joe talk about food! No, really! That’s because this week, they had the great delight of reviewing the latest offering from Helen Mirren, Om Puri, Manish Dayal, and Charlotte Le Bon: ‘The Hundred-Foot Journey’. It really is a pretty fantastic film with only a few flaws and well worth seeing — certainly over much of the cruft at theaters the last few weeks. It has a wonderful story, but you might not want to see it while hungry! Also don’t miss discussion about Andrew Garfield and the blame game for Amazing Spider-Man 2’s failures, Tommy Lee Jones starring in a western (and it actually looks pretty good!), ‘Star Wars Rumors’, the first full trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’, and heavy rumors about Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass returning to do more Bourne films — which sounds exciting to Joe and TJ!

Whoa! Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass Returning for New Bourne Film!

Whoa! Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass Returning for New Bourne Film!
Germain Lussier — Film

Shocking news in the world of Bourne: reports say Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are making deals to return for their third Jason Bourne film together. (This new one would be the fifth overall film in the series.) The film would take the Summer 2016 release date that was already in place for The Bourne Legacy sequel, which was set to be directed by Justin Lin and star Jeremy Renner. Read more about the Matt Damon Bourne 5 news below.

The Bourne 5 news broke several months back on Latino Review, but producer Frank Marshall denied it. Now Deadline’s story seems to confirm, even though reps…

First Full Trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’

First Full Trailer for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’

I think this series is getting better with each successive film. That’s what it looks like to me. Mockingjay Part 1 seems no less fantastic than Catching Fire if this trailer is to be believed. And given that it’s the same team at the helm, I don’t know why I wouldn’t believe it.

It does seem as if Katiniss’ interactions with President Snow might be upped and deviated a bit from the book, but I think that will actually be a good thing. Again, just from the trailer, but I continue to be impressed with Jennifer Lawrence’s ability to portray basically the way I had envisioned the character in…

RUMOR: Obi Wan Kenobi Stand Alone ‘Star Wars’ Film?

RUMOR: Obi Wan Kenobi Stand Alone ‘Star Wars’ Film?
Germain Lussier — Film

As little as we know about Star Wars Episode VII, we know even less about the Star Wars stand-alone films. We know Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank and directing the first two. We’ve heard they may be origin stories and rumors have run rampant of all the various characters that might be featured. Han Solo and Boba Fett are two of the best bets, but Yoda has been mentioned too, possibly a side character in Episode VII and now another name has entered the mix. A new rumor has hit that Lucasfilm is developing an Obi Wan Kenobi stand alone film. Out of all of those rumors, this is the one that…

Christopher McQuarrie is currently at work directing Mission: Impossible 5, with Tom CruiseJeremy RennerVing Rhames, and Simon Pegg all returning to the cast. We know there will be some new additions to the cast, including Rebecca FergusonAlec Baldwin, and Sean Harris as the bad guy. McQuarrie tweeted the image:

We live in an age where airplane pilots and drones are getting our set photos for us,…

A Taste of ‘Deep Space 9’ in HD

A Taste of ‘Deep Space 9’ in HD

I think the Star Trek series I want in HD the most is Deep Space Nine. Well, I mean, I want it all in HD if I’m being honest, but Deep Space Nine is such a great series and it would be very awesome to have it in HD. I go back and forth on whether I like it better than TNG and it kind of depends on the day you ask me. But it is great Star Trek and I enjoy it and I want it. Let’s make this happen guys.

So to the reason I’m talking about this today: TrekCore put together some of the footage from the HD remastered TNG episodes that features Deep Space Nine — after all, one of the episodes did…

Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swank Oscar Bid: ‘The Homesman’ Trailer

Tommy Lee Jones and Hillary Swank Oscar Bid: ‘The Homesman’ Trailer

This one looks to me like a bid to get in at the Oscars. And maybe it is Oscar material, might be too early to tell. I’m not too sure about that premise — three women went crazy, their husbands won’t care for them, and they need to be taken back somewhere, for reasons. I don’t know. But the trailer does look mighty good. And Tommy Lee Jones looks fantastic.

Check out the trailer below, and for good measure, I’ve got an international trailer below that shows a few different things as well.

International Trailer for ‘The Judge’ Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall

International Trailer for ‘The Judge’ Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall

I have been wrong before, but it sure seems like I can feel how good this film is going to be in my bones. I’m really excited to see what RDJ and Duvall have for us here. Downey seems like he’s in his fairly characteristic style with a few twists, but I don’t think that has to be a bad thing. And hopefully I’ll be able to put aside my disllike of Billy Bob Thornton to enjoy this film. I mean, maybe he’ll actually even be tollerable, who knows.

But I do know that I think this film will be a great one. Check out the latest trailer.
