He’s doing Iron Man 4. No, he’s not doing Iron Man 4. No, wait, he is. No, Marvel has no plans for a Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man 4. Blah blah blah.

There’s been a lot of back and forth on this, but now RDJ seemingly confirmed that he is in negotiations for a fourth film — which would indicate there are plans for one. I’ve personally always sort of thought there would be. It’s a pretty big cash cow for Marvel to not do anything with.

Producer Michael De Luca has managed to get Sony to make a seven-figure deal for “Hood,” via a pitch from Cory Goodman (”Priest,” “The Last Witch Hunter”) and Jeremy Lott (”The Falling”). And as you might guess from the title (which isn’t to be confused with the project The Wachowskis tried to get moving a few years ago), this project will apply the superhero treatment to Robin Hood, Little John, Friar Tuck and Will Scarlett, creating an Avengers-esque, interconnected cinematic universe, with a tone said to be between “Mission: Impossible” and “Fast & Furious.” Lol.

Marvel has set the bar so high when it comes to creating and maintaining connected, expanding cinematic universes that you can either try to beat ‘em, or you can try to join ‘em. Recent rumors suggest that Sony, who are struggling to make fanboys and audiences happy with their “The Amazing Spider-Man” franchise, might just be talking to the experts at Marvel about joining forces.

According to HitFix, the two studios are discussing an alliance that would not only re-energize “The Amazing Spider-Man” franchise, but would also connect Peter Parker and his milieu to the Marvel Cinematic…

As ever, the ScreenJunkies Honest trailers are amazing! They knocked this one out of the park.

Honestly, Trans4mers was so bad, I don’t know how Michael Bay or anyone else invovled with the film lives with themselves. But whatever. Sure makes for a great Honest Trailer for us.

I’ve talked about it before, but I really think Kristen Stewart has gotten a bad rap because of the Twilight films. I don’t think she’s that horrible in them, I think people love to hate on Twilight, and therefore by extension, Kristen. She’s not amazing, or special or anything, but she’s fine.

Even so, what I have read from a few people who it seems have seen this film and given it a fair and honest look is that she turns in an a-list performance. Sure there are dissenters, but those that I have read saying the film is terrible and she’s terrible in it don’t seem like they’ve given the film…

Now sources have confirmed with Trekmovie that director Roberto Orci and his fellow Star Trek producers have picked Claudio Miranda to be the Director of Photography. Miranda won an Academy Award for his work on Life of Pi in 2012. He also picked up a BAFTA, a Critics Choice Award and a number of local critics awards for Life of Pi. Miranda also has an additional Academy Award nomination for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, along with a number of other award nominations, including two from the American Society of Cinematographers.

I have seen relatively few things that David Fincher has done, but what I have seen I have enjoyed immensely. This video explores some of the reasons why Fincher is such a good director. I do think it’s interesting that in a time when directors and filmmakers are running away from tried and true techniques and story telling craft to be more novel, bring more “gritty realism” to their cinematography, and generally throwing away the rules, Fincher is honing the craft in a tried and true way and people are loving it.
