Superbowl TV Spot for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’

Superbowl TV Spot for ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’

Yes, more pre-Superbowl Superbowl trailers. You’ll for sure want to see this one though. This is for what we secretly or not so secretly want to be our favorite Marvel film ever, and maybe one of our all time favorites.

Don’t forget that one of the films that’s coming up after this is Captain America: Civil War, and I think Age of Ultron is going to lead right into that. It certainly looks like they’re headed fast in that general direction.

This film has only a few new shots and they’re quick moving so you have to look hard for them. In particular, I think there’s a few new shots of the…

Superbowl TV Spot for ‘Insurgent’

Superbowl TV Spot for ‘Insurgent’

While we’re trotting out the Superbowl trailers, here’s the trailer for the upcoming film, Insurgent. You know, I just didn’t hate the first film: Divergent. And yet, I feel like this film could go either way, and I’m not sure this trailer is doing anything for me. The first trailer didn’t really either for that matter. And we’re getting quite close to that March 20 release date.

Here’s to hoping they’ve got more to come than what they are showing us.

Superbowl TV Spot for ‘Terminator: Genisys’

The general consensus seems to be that this film is going to be awful, the first trailer was awful, and this trailer is awful. I still don’t feel that way about the film. Granted, it may end up being awful. I’m perfectly willing to admit that. But I do think that for the time being, people are being a bit to hard on this upcoming film and its trailers. I’m actually still kind of liking the look of things to come. I’m certainly willing to give this film a chance.

As far as people complaining that the retconning of the timeline (again) is really confusing. No really. People are complaining…

You’re Not The Boss Of Me

You’re Not The Boss Of Me

It’s the cute and lovable ‘Paddington’. Join Joe and TJ to find out what makes this film pretty great during a not-so-great season for films. Also up for discussion: Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones?, Joss Whedon on ‘Avengers 3’, ‘Jupiter Ascending’, ‘The Fantastic Four’ trailer, Dreamworks layoffs and delays for ‘How to Train Your Dragon 3’, and a silly sounding upcoming ‘Monopoly’ movie that will be… like ‘The Goonies’? Ugh.

Disney To Cast Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones?

Deadline cautions that nothing has been finalized. The studio’s plans for Indiana Jones are still in the very early stages. However, they’ve heard that the studio wants to build a new Indiana Jones franchise around Pratt. He’d be playing the same swashbuckling archaeologist character portrayed by Harrison Ford in the original films.

A new Indiana Jones movie has been rumored pretty much since the last Indiana Jones movie (2008′s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), but real progress has been slow. Even after Disney’s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012, Indiana Jones 5 was said…

Joss Whedon Talks About ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

Joss Whedon Talks About ‘Avengers: Infinity War’
Germain Lussier — /Film

I couldn’t imagine doing this again. It’s enormously hard, and it [will] be, by [the time I would make ‘Avengers 3 & 4’], a good five years since I created anything that was completely my own. So it’s very doubtful that I would take on the two-part Infinity War movie that would eat up the next four years of my life. I obviously still want to be a part of the Marvel Universe – I love these guys – but it ain’t easy. This year has been more like running three shows than any year of my life. It is bonkers.

Pretty much what we expected, though it’ll be very interested to see what role he fills…

TV Spots for ‘Jupiter Ascending’

TV Spots for ‘Jupiter Ascending’

Don’t forget that next week we’ll finally get to see the delayed Jupiter Ascending. This is one of those films that I really want to be good and expect it to be bad. I like the look of everything I’ve seen about the film so far. And don’t get me wrong when I say I expect it to be bad. I don’t have nearly as many red flags about this film as I did about Cloud Atlas. But there are a few red flags — chief among them being that the film was delayed until February by the studio. Why would they do that? February is not usually where studios shove their good films off to.

Still, I’m going to go to…

The ‘Fantastic Four’ Trailer — “With Every New Risk, There Are Consequences”

The ‘Fantastic Four’ Trailer — “With Every New Risk, There Are Consequences”

I was a fan of the 2005 installment in the Fantastic Four franchise. It was pretty good stuff in an age with comic book films were different than they are now. I was less a fan of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. It was a lousy follow-up to a great film and it essentially killed that version of the franchise. These things happen.

Now we have a reboot with out Steve Rogers Chris Evans. In fact, the only face I recognized in this reboot was Kate Mara’s as Sue Storm. Everyone else is new to me. That could be good or bad and it all depends.

For whatever it’s worth, Fox is the studio…

Paddington — Review

4 of 5 stars
Paddington

Bears like marmalade. This is an incontrovertible fact. If you supply a bear with marmalade, he’ll be your friend for life and it will supply him with all the nutrients he needs for a day. That latter part, at least, is what Paddinton insists on.

I went to see the film last night in preparation for this week’s episode of The MovieByte Podcast and I expected to enjoy it, but not to really like it. But Paddington is, in fact, quite a bit more charming, more fun, and much better than it has any right to be. It’s based on a silly children’s series, it’s had some internal political and talent…
