J.J. and Lucas Haven’t Spoken Yet

J.J. and Lucas Haven’t Spoken Yet
Angie Han - /Film

I have not spoken to J.J. He’s been busy with Star Trek, and I’m sure that he’ll let me know when he’s got some questions. So, you know, that’s all going well. Kathy tells me it’s working out great.

Not that Lucas minds all that much. “I think it’s great,” he said of passing on the torch. “I don’t have to worry about these guys any more.”

And unfortunately, I think it’s great to keep Lucas out of it at this point. He’s done enough damage to his franchise, let’s just keep his mitts off of it and it should be a lot better than anything we saw of the prequels.

Plus, I think Lucas’…

‘World War Z’ Clip - Hammer and Nails

‘World War Z’ Clip - Hammer and Nails

“These guys are hammers, and to hammers everything looks like nails.” LOVE IT! If the film is like this clip, I’m going to love it I think.

I’m hearing good things and I’m warming up to the idea of this film. Of course, I warmed up to the idea of the Man of Steel film to the point where I was really looking forward to it. What a let down that was. I hope this is not like that. We’ll see, but I think this film may be showing some promise for my personal tastes.

How ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Fits In The Marvel Universe

How ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Fits In The Marvel Universe
Cain Rodriguez - The Playlist

I already talked about part of what this linked article is about, but This part was interesting, and not what I mentioned before.

There is also the little matter of the “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” show airing this fall, but to keep things a bit simpler, it will run parallel to the movie world of Marvel. “It basically opens with the idea that since ‘The Avengers’ things have changed. Now everybody knows that there are gods and monsters, and what is the world like? It’s about being the people who aren’t super and what it is like for them,” Whedon shared. “There will be people with powers and…

‘The Lego Movie’ Trailer

‘The Lego Movie’ Trailer

So, apparently this is a thing. I guess LEGO didn’t want to be left out of this super hero craze. And what with Hasbro jumping into the fray and making films, why not LEGO? I have kind of mixed feelings about this. It looks unbelievably dumb, and fun at the same time. It should certainly bring back nastolgia for me too. LEGO blocks were my best friend growing up, and I didn’t even have all those fancy special blocks all the cool kids have now. I just had regular old bricks. Sure I had the varying assortment of sizes, 2 pegs, 3 pegs, 8 pegs, etc, and a few tapered blocks. But that was it for…

‘Almost Human’ - New J.J. Abrams TV Show

‘Almost Human’ - New J.J. Abrams TV Show

It is proving rather difficult to fill the void left by my beloved Fringe (I still don’t understand why we couldn’t have had a few more seasons), but maybe this one will come close. It certainly looks like fun, interesting, smart sci-fi, which is what Fringe was. And of course, Karl Urban! Must see!

This action-packed police drama set 35 years in the future centers around the unlikely partnership between a part-machine cop and a part-human robot.

I highly recommend this trailer!

‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ Trailer 3

‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ Trailer 3

For those of us who love fantasy, this looks like it could be a good one, although I will say this feels very closely related to a BuffyTwilight crossover. This film is apparently based on a book series, but I don’t have any previous knowledge or baggage from that series to cloud things up for me either way, so that’s a possible plus for me.

But, as much fun as this looks like it could be, there certainly seem to be enough films and TV shows centered on the paranormal lately. Maybe it’s time to find some other subjects for filmmaking, what do you guys say?

‘The Hobbit’ New Zealand Featurette

‘The Hobbit’ New Zealand Featurette

I’ll say this for New Zealand, it sure is a beautiful place, and a perfect place to shoot “Middle Earth”. And actually, though at one point in the video they say it’s so beautiful and perfect you’ll think it’s CGI, I was thinking the opposite, I was thinking it does indeed look too good and too real to be CGI.

Man if this video doesn’t make you want to visit New Zealand, I’m not sure you have a soul.

‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ Trailer

‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ Trailer

Well, this looks really stupid. But it’s a trailer and everybody is making a fuss about it so I should post it or something, right? The Wolf of Wall Street will be directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, Jon Favreau, Kyle Chandler, Rob Reiner, Jean Dujardin, Pj Byrne, and Kenneth Choi.

In The Wolf of Wall Street DiCaprio plays Belfort, a Long Island penny stockbroker who served 20 months in prison for refusing to cooperate in a massive 1990s securities fraud case that involved widespread corruption on Wall Street and in the…

Brought to you from Krypton - Box Office Report for June 17, 2013

Our hero soared into the box office in his boots, cape, and cool new outfit that lacks the signature underwear on the outside, charmed pretty much everyone, and flew off again with a rather large sum of money. I thought he was supposed to be one of the good guys, what is he doing stealing all that cash from us anyway?

Also, what is with the crazy texture on that suite? That can’t be comfortable so there must be another purpose, right? RIGHT?

#1 - Man of Steel
