Am I the only one on the planet that did not like this short? I think I may be judging from the gushing praise everyone has been pouring out on it since it debuted, and again now that it has come out online.

I thought it started out great, and I was really loving the whole thing with the guy trying to get the girl’s attention with the paper airplanes. Then it just got really weird and completely ruined it. It was as if there was cleverness and fun, and then they ran out of brainstorm and said, hey, let’s just have all those airplanes pull the couple together at the same place of their own…

But under the direction of journeyman filmmaker Taylor Hackford, who is an underrated visual stylist and has done everything from the top tier Stephen King adaptation “Dolores Claiborne” and lawyerly monster mash “The Devil’s Advocate” to earnest ‘80s tearjerkers like “An Officer and a Gentlemen” and “Against All Odds” to the Oscar honored “Ray,” “Parker” totally sags. This one is a twist on a familiar fairytale, but for the most part you won’t recognize it. At first you might recognize elements of the original fairytale, with a few minor differences. But that’s just used as a backstory for the real tale of Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.

Fox has already put out a couple of very funny trailers for Paul Feig‘s The Heat, but you’ll want to hold your laughter for now. The picture has just been pushed back from April 5 to June 28, where it’ll face off against Universal’s Kick-Ass 2 and Columbia’s White House Down. That slot has traditionally been a good one for comedies; high grossers likeTed, Bad Teacher, and Grown Ups have all opened on that same weekend in recent years. The studio has already made it clear that it likes what Feig has delivered, so this date comes across as a vote of confidence.
