‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Film to Be Made

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Film to Be Made
Lynette Rice - Entertainment Weekly

The search is over: Dakota Johnson (Ben and Kate, The Social Network) will play Anastasia Steele and Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) will take over the high-profile role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey.

Author E.L. James tweeted the news this morning. The movie will be released on Aug. 1, 2014.

No clear candidates for the high-profile roles had emerged since Focus Features and Universal paid $5 million in March 2012 for movie rights to the best-selling trilogy — but there were lots of rumors. Earlier this year, Emma Watson’s name hit the mill for…

Bryan Cranston Says No Luthorcorp In His Future

Bryan Cranston Says No Luthorcorp In His Future
ComingSoon.net

Last week, some unfounded rumors began to circulate the internet that Bryan Cranston had signed on to play Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man of Steel sequel. Many of you wondered why we never posted this story and it was because we thought it was inaccurate and a fabrication. Now, Cranston himself says the rumor that he’s signed a six-picture deal to play the bald antagonist are not true.

“Six? This is all news to me,” he said to Boston.com. “I think that maybe my name is bandied about because I’m known to be bald. ‘What bald guy can we get?’ The reality is they can take any actor…

Interview with ‘Agents of SHIELD’ Cast

Interview with ‘Agents of SHIELD’ Cast

Here’s a great interview with the cast of the upcoming TV show Agents of SHIELD: Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Brett Dalton, and Chloe Bennet.

The show will air on September 24th, and I for one can hardly wait! But while we are barely containing our excitement, we might as well watch this interview with the cast.

Benedict Cumberbatch Cast in ‘Star Wars VII’?

Benedict Cumberbatch Cast in ‘Star Wars VII’?
Brendon Connelly - Bleeding Cool

Last week, The Hollywood Reporter passed on the disappointing news that Benedict Cumberbatch has withdrawn from Guillermo Del Toro‘s Crimson Peak. One line of their story seems particularly relevant right now:

No reason for his departure was given, although sources say his exit is not due to another project.

But… were these sources lying to us?

According to Film Chronicles, who focus almost exclusively on reviews, interviews and well-sourced content rather than speculation or rumours, Cumberbatch has been cast in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. As you may recall, Episode…

Netflix, Pilots, and ‘House of Cards’

Netflix, Pilots, and ‘House of Cards’

We have learned the lesson the music industry didn’t learn: give people what they want

Actually, I think we’re a long way from that but he’s right, the Netflix model with House of Cards is a major step in the rigth direction. This, by the way, is why I watch House of Cards aside from the fact that it’s just pretty good story and television.

This is SO worth watching. Please take the time to watch. It’s fairly obvious too that Kevin Spacey is on our side and he’s saying things I’ve been saying for years.

Here Comes Loki… I mean Thor — ‘Thor: The Dark World’ Extended TV Spot

Here Comes Loki… I mean Thor — ‘Thor: The Dark World’ Extended TV Spot

Remind me which one of these guys Thor: The Dark World is about because I’m confused. Is this about Thor, or Loki?

Seriously though, I’m expecting to like this film a lot — it should be WAY better than the first Thor film. And it sure looks like they aren’t messing around in this film, there’s going to be lots of destruction and high stakes.

Take a look:

Pixar Removes Bob Peterson from ‘The Good Dinosaur’

Pixar Removes Bob Peterson from ‘The Good Dinosaur’
Rebecca Keegan - LATimes

Pixar Animation has removed the director of its 2014 film, “The Good Dinosaur,” and not named a replacement, marking the fourth time in eight movies that the Emeryville studio has made a director change midstream.

With the film’s release date fast approaching and various creative choices unmade, Pixar executives decided to replace director Bob Peterson this summer, according to the studio’s president, Ed Catmull.

This does not bode well.

“All directors get really deep in their films,” Catmull said this week. “Sometimes you just need a different perspective to get the idea out. Sometimes…

Kurt Russell in Talks for ‘Fast and Furious 7’

Kurt Russell in Talks for ‘Fast and Furious 7’
Germain Lussier - /Film

Casting Russell in Fast and Furious 7 gives this installment an almost instant superiority over the other films. We already know Jason Statham is a major villain in this movie, and that was a big “get” on its own. But Russell’s involvement (and the fact they initially offered the role to Washington) suggests a role of even greater importance. Maybe something like a big boss.

The Box Office Headed in “One Direction” - Box Office Report

I am silently weeping for humanity… well actually, not so silently. If you are somewhere in the state of Tennessee you can probably hear the wailing. It’s quite loud. You may ask why my sensibilities have been offended so. Well, I think it is related the the “direction” the box office has taken.

Seriously, the entire box office right now looks abysmal.
