‘Man of Steel’ Passes $150 Million Domestic
Pamela McClintock - The Hollywood Reporter

Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan‘s Man of Steel zoomed past the $150 million mark in its fifth day of release at the domestic box office, enjoying robust weekday business.

The Superman tentpole, from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, scored the top June debut of all time in grossing $116.1 million. Including $12 million earned last Thursday night from special Walmart screenings, the pic ended Sunday with a total $128.7 million under its belt.

Man of Steel, based on the marquee D.C. Comics superhero, took in another $12.6 million on Monday and $11.5 million on Tuesday, pushing its…

A New ‘Star Wars VII’ Rumor Contradicts the Previous

A New ‘Star Wars VII’ Rumor Contradicts the Previous
Angie Han - /Film

Another day, another Star Wars Epsiode VII rumor. And one that seemingly contradicts the last Star Wars Episode VII rumor, no less.

A site claims to have gotten ahold of a casting breakdown for the film’s seven lead characters — which, it should be noted, don’t include a pair of 17-year-old male-female twins. We caution you as always to take this info with a big, fat grain of salt, but the new report is worth checking out for anyone hungry for details on the new film.

Click on through to read more, but the bottom line is this casting call does not include the roles of Jacen and Jaina…

‘Man of Steel’ Damage Way Worse Than 9/11

‘Man of Steel’ Damage Way Worse Than 9/11
Sean O’Neal - A.V. Club

While Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel has endured some criticism from the way it deviates from the established Superman character, it’s earned praise for the way it shows Superman absolutely trashing a city with little disregard for the human cost, thus keeping with Superman’s familiar motto, “Truth, Justice, and the Americans who got in the way.” But just how many Americans—and their American buildings and infrastructures—is, as always, a question best left to science to ruin.

So that’s exactly what scientist Charles Watson and his hazard-assessment team at Watson Technical Consulting did,…

HBO GO and ESPN Now On Apple TV

HBO GO and ESPN Now On Apple TV
Lauren Indvik - Mashable

As previously reported, HBO Go is indeed coming to Apple TV, effective Wednesday. Apple announced that WatchESPN and content from an assortment of other streaming providers are now available on the device as well.

Apple TV owners — at least, those with subscriptions to HBO and ESPN — have been able to stream content from those networks using iPhone or iPad devices (and AirPlay) for some time. The new integration simply saves them the need to pull out a secondary device.

This is good news for Apple TV users. The more ways we can access on demand content, the better. And as Apple TV is…

And I certainly plan on having fun trash talking Man of Steel! We’ll be starting at 6:30 Central Time so make perparations people!

Man of Steel — Review

2 of 5 stars
Man of Steel

What would happen if you took the fun and joy, the emotion and heart out of a Superman film and simply filled it full of nerd details? Well you would have a film released in 2013 called Man of Steel, that’s what.

This is not the Superman film I wanted and it’s not the Superman film we deserved.

Man of Steel would like for us to forget what came before and consider the film as its own thing, but that is pretty much impossible to do. Therefore, I will need to step into my DeLorean… sorry, wrong franchise… I’ll need to do a few loops around the earth in reverse orbital rotation and go back in…

J.J. and Lucas Haven’t Spoken Yet

J.J. and Lucas Haven’t Spoken Yet
Angie Han - /Film

I have not spoken to J.J. He’s been busy with Star Trek, and I’m sure that he’ll let me know when he’s got some questions. So, you know, that’s all going well. Kathy tells me it’s working out great.

Not that Lucas minds all that much. “I think it’s great,” he said of passing on the torch. “I don’t have to worry about these guys any more.”

And unfortunately, I think it’s great to keep Lucas out of it at this point. He’s done enough damage to his franchise, let’s just keep his mitts off of it and it should be a lot better than anything we saw of the prequels.

Plus, I think Lucas’…

‘World War Z’ Clip - Hammer and Nails

‘World War Z’ Clip - Hammer and Nails

“These guys are hammers, and to hammers everything looks like nails.” LOVE IT! If the film is like this clip, I’m going to love it I think.

I’m hearing good things and I’m warming up to the idea of this film. Of course, I warmed up to the idea of the Man of Steel film to the point where I was really looking forward to it. What a let down that was. I hope this is not like that. We’ll see, but I think this film may be showing some promise for my personal tastes.

How ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Fits In The Marvel Universe

How ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Fits In The Marvel Universe
Cain Rodriguez - The Playlist

I already talked about part of what this linked article is about, but This part was interesting, and not what I mentioned before.

There is also the little matter of the “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” show airing this fall, but to keep things a bit simpler, it will run parallel to the movie world of Marvel. “It basically opens with the idea that since ‘The Avengers’ things have changed. Now everybody knows that there are gods and monsters, and what is the world like? It’s about being the people who aren’t super and what it is like for them,” Whedon shared. “There will be people with powers and…

‘The Lego Movie’ Trailer

‘The Lego Movie’ Trailer

So, apparently this is a thing. I guess LEGO didn’t want to be left out of this super hero craze. And what with Hasbro jumping into the fray and making films, why not LEGO? I have kind of mixed feelings about this. It looks unbelievably dumb, and fun at the same time. It should certainly bring back nastolgia for me too. LEGO blocks were my best friend growing up, and I didn’t even have all those fancy special blocks all the cool kids have now. I just had regular old bricks. Sure I had the varying assortment of sizes, 2 pegs, 3 pegs, 8 pegs, etc, and a few tapered blocks. But that was it for…
