‘Star Trek’ Honest Trailer

‘Star Trek’ Honest Trailer

Well, goodness. While we’re on the subject of Star Trek I might as well post what is quite possibly THE BEST HONEST TRAILER E-V-E-R!

No seriously, for those like me who have a love hate relationship with J.J.‘s 2009 Star Trek film, you’re going to love this. And this honest trailer arrives just in time, seeing how Star Trek into Darkness COMES OUT NEXT WEEK OMG!!!11!!!!!!!1!

Spock Vs. Spock

Spock Vs. Spock

What happens when the old guy and the new guy go toe to toe? This video will show you just that.

This is just about the silliest car ad I’ve seen in a long time, but as a good geek/nerd/Trekie, whatever you want to call me, I enjoyed it immensely.

Plus, you know, Quinto is going to have to get up a lot earlier in the morning than that to beat Spock prime. Despite the silliness, I think this may actually be some of the best advertising I’ve seen in a while.

J.J. Abrams and Simon Pegg Talk about ‘Star Wars’

J.J. Abrams and Simon Pegg Talk about ‘Star Wars’

It has not really been a secret that Abrams is a big Star Wars fan and was never really a fan of Trek. It’s hard to argue with the box office success of his first Trek film, and what looks like the box office success we’re going to see with his second Trek film, but I am still not sure he was ever the right man for the job. Still, I am glad to have Star Trek in almost any form.

And that’s not really the point here. Here, Simon Pegg and J.J. Abrams are talking (mostly) about Star Wars. If you want to nerd out a bit, check this out.

‘Man of Steel’ TV Spot 3

‘Man of Steel’ TV Spot 3

So perhaps you were going to skip over this one because TV spots are often little more than a remix of parts of the theatrical trailers we have already seen. Well, Man of Steel is breaking more rules than just the color of Perry White’s skin apparently because this new TV spot breaks the remix rule too. There’s all sorts of images and film we haven’t yet seen. You will definitely want to check this out.

First of all, we see what looks to me like General Zod’s space landing on what I am assuming is earth. Then a couple shots later it looks like that same space ship is firing some sort of…

Collected ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Goodies

Collected ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Goodies

I have all sorts of fun Star Trek goodness collected over the weekend and Monday that I was not able to get up yesterday. So here it all is. I’ll just back the truck up to the dock and unload it all here.

One thing is for certain, they’re really cranking out the material and promoting this film like nobody’s business. I don’t remember any Star Trek movie ever getting this kind of promotion. Granted now that I’m running MovieByte I’m paying a little more attention, but I think we can safely say that the amount of promotion going into this exceeds anything we’ve see for Trek before.

First…

Avenger Appearances in ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’?

Avenger Appearances in ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’?
Entertainment Weekly

“If that works the way everyone expects it to work I think that would open up another avenue, another outlet for some of those characters,” Feige acknowledes. “Maybe they guest star, I don’t know. I think they’re avoiding the cameo of the week on that show, which is very smart.”

...

But, well, there is one other question: Would Robert Downey Jr. ever return to TV for a guest appearance as Iron Man?

EW asked him straight-up. Downey Jr.’s response: “You know what? There’s no telling. I am open to everything.”

It’s not very likely. But at the very least, it’s also not a hard…

Interview with Shane Black and Kevin Feige

Interview with Shane Black and Kevin Feige
Robert DeSalvo - Film.com

Robert DeSalvo: Kevin, for Iron Man’s third stand-alone movie, what specifically did you want to do differently from the other “Iron Man” films?

KEVIN FEIGE: Well, the most important thing was to make a good part three. The curse of the threequel is something that people write a lot about, and I didn’t want to fall prey to that. One way to try to not fall prey to that was do something different and not rely on making things bigger, bigger, bigger. Although, ironically, this has some of the biggest action set pieces in any of our movies. But, knowing that it would come a year after “The…

“Mom” Tells Son the Plot of ‘The Matrix’

“Mom” Tells Son the Plot of ‘The Matrix’

Everyone sees things from a different perspective as proved by this mother who recently watched The Matrix with her son, and then retold him the plot.

I think she may have got a few of the details wrong… Moshimo? Super Powers? Beat out the Matrix?

Also apparently Neo got in water and lost his hair. Oh, and also, he went through tunnels. See below:

Apparently, she watched a very different film than the film that I love so much…

My mom hadn’t seen (or heard of) the Wachowski’s classic sci-fi film The Matrix. We watched the entire movie together and right after she told me what it…

Gwyneth Paltrow Thinks ‘Iron Man’ Is Done

Gwyneth Paltrow Thinks ‘Iron Man’ Is Done

Well, shoot. That’s no good if true.

In an interview with Geek Nation, Gwyneth Paltrow made us all cry tears of grief and rage when she said, “I don’t think there’s going to be [an ‘Iron Man 4’]. I think we’re done with ‘Iron Man.” We await word to see if the studio, producers, and other filmmakers involved agree with that.

But all around that sad little bit of news is a great, fun, and geeky video that you should take the time to watch!
