I hate you Jar Jar

I hate you Jar Jar
Twitter - Molly Lewis

“I hate you.” “I know.”

A little more fun this morning if I may. This was just too much fun to not share. Who hasn’t dreamed of encasing Jar Jar in carbonite?

I have no idea who this person on Twitter is or where the picture originates from, but I stumbled across it and it’s too much fun — you know, as a card carrying Jar Jar hater (Meesa think Jar Jar Stupid!).

Gandalf Problem Solving

This is just too much fun!

Have you ever wondered how Gandalf solves problems? Well wonder no more! We have a flowchart here that will explain everything. All you have to do is figure out where to start, answer the questions, and you will be led to the right conclusion for a Gandalf style answer to the problem.

This Isn’t the Response You’re Looking For

This Isn’t the Response You’re Looking For

The Administration shares your desire for job creation and a strong national defense, but a Death Star isn’t on the horizon.

I may not like the current administration one little bit. Not at all. But someone over there should win an award for this.

You see, some idiots thought it would be fun to start a petition to get our government to construct a Death Star. Only it garnered enough signatures to warrant a response. This is that response. It was crafted by a nerd, or with the help of one. If you read it there can be no doubt.

This is pure, unadulterated fun. Consider:

Tarantino Blows Up in Interview

Tarantino Blows Up in Interview
Movieline

Quentin Tarantino probably had a vastly different idea of how the months leading up to the 85th Academy Awards would transpire for him. As he began to promote Django Unchained, he no doubt expected to spend the majority of Awards Season talking about America’s legacy of slavery, about his decision to portray it as unambiguously horrific, and how the peculiar institution has historically been treated in film.

No doubt.

In the interview, which I’ll embed below, Tarantino pretty much blew up, and the interviewer kept trying to come back to it, kept trying to get him to say something…

‘Avengers 2’ To Go Deeper (Whedon Interview Video)

‘Avengers 2’ To Go Deeper (Whedon Interview Video)

If you were wondering how Whedon might be planning to make Avengers 2 bigger than the first Avengers, which was a fairly big, large scale spectacle, well the answer is, he is not planning on making it bigger. He thinks the answer is to “go deeper.”

“Don’t go bigger; go deeper.” ... “Now you can spend your time just digging in — and by digging in, I mean with a scalpel, to cause pain.”

That sounds like the Joss Whedon we know and (usually) love.

One other thing he said in the video that I thought was a very good point, very astute and well thought:

“Something I always say to…

Chad’s Top Ten of 2012

Chad’s Top Ten of 2012
Chad Likes Movies

2012 was a good year for movies. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see everything – films like Moonrise KingdomThe MasterArgoLes MisérablesDjango Unchained, etc. are all films released in 2012 that I haven’t seen yet – but I DID manage to see quite a few. Here is my personal list of the best films of 2012 (click on the titles to view my full review).

Friend of the site, Chad, runs down his top ten. His top pick of Looper reminds me that I’m sad I didn’t put it somewhere on my list. But that was a difficult list to compile, there were too many good film last year.

I also don’t…

Melinda Snodgrass on ‘Django’

Melinda Snodgrass on ‘Django’

Christopher Waltz who won an academy award for his performance as the chilling and charming Nazi Colonel Han Landa in Inglourious Bastards is just wonderful as the German/dentist/bounty hunter in Django.  Charming, funny, kind, but with a dark streak.  Jaime Foxx really comes into his own in the second half of the film, and Samuel Jacksons turn as an old plantation slave is amazing.  Leonardo diCaprio has a wonderful time playing the villainous plantation owner.  The script is good — Tarantino has a real flair for how to tell a story, and he makes sure that one small thing that happens…
