Christian Bale Rumored To Be In Negotiations for the Role of Steve Jobs
Esther Zuckerman — Entertainment Weekly

Christian Bale best start picking out his turtlenecks: He is on the road to playing Steve Jobs in Sony’s adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s biography.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is “beginning negotiations” with Bale, and a source confirmed to Ethat the actor is indeed in talks for the role in the Aaron Sorkin-scripted biopic. Danny Boyle is now attached to direct the film, but Bale was reportedly David Fincher’s pick to play the Apple co-founder before those negotiations collapsed.

Bale really gets into his roles and goes to great lengths to make them as authentic as…

James Cameron Spills Beans on How Schwarzenegger Can Be In New Terminator

James Cameron Spills Beans on How Schwarzenegger Can Be In New Terminator
Matt Singer — The Dissolve

“I wasn’t interested in producing it or working on it actively, but I did want to put in a good word for Arnold. I pointed out that the outer covering (of the Terminator) was actually not synthetic, that it was organic and therefore could age. You could theoretically have a Terminator that was sent back in time, missed his target, and ended up just kind of living on in society. Because he is a learning computer and has a brain as a central processor he could actually become more human as he went along without getting discovered.”

You’ll forgive me, I assume, if I say that this Terminator:…

Robert Downey Jr. Backtracks a Little on ‘Iron Man 4’
Matt Goldberg — Collider

Yesterday on EllenRobert Downey Jr. said he and Marvel were in the middle of negotiations for Iron Man 4.  However, later that night, he went on The Late Show, and told David Letterman that not only is there no script, but when pressed to give a definitive answer on whether he would do the movie, Downey responded:

“Just between us, no — but I’m going to do other stuff with Marvel. I’m still going to be involved with Marvel and there’s going to be plenty of other fun stuff.”

He also said that Marvel does “have a plan, and I think they’re going to announce — they’re very secretive about…

Robert Downey Jr. Confirms ‘Iron Man 4’ Negotiations

Robert Downey Jr. Confirms ‘Iron Man 4’ Negotiations

He’s doing Iron Man 4. No, he’s not doing Iron Man 4. No, wait, he is. No, Marvel has no plans for a Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man 4. Blah blah blah.

There’s been a lot of back and forth on this, but now RDJ seemingly confirmed that he is in negotiations for a fourth film — which would indicate there are plans for one. I’ve personally always sort of thought there would be. It’s a pretty big cash cow for Marvel to not do anything with.

See the quick video where he sort kind of hems and haws then confirms it.

Marvel has set the bar so high when it comes to creating and maintaining connected, expanding cinematic universes that you can either try to beat ‘em, or you can try to join ‘em. Recent rumors suggest that Sony, who are struggling to make fanboys and audiences happy with their “The Amazing Spider-Man” franchise, might just be talking to the experts at Marvel about joining forces.

According to HitFix, the two studios are discussing an alliance that would not only re-energize “The Amazing Spider-Man” franchise, but would also connect Peter Parker and his milieu to the Marvel Cinematic…

‘Bourne’ Talk On The Playlist

‘Bourne’ Talk On The Playlist
Edward Davis — The Playlist

Politics, politics, politics. It’s the name of the game in Hollywood. Earlier this summer, producer Frank Marshall insisted Matt Damon wasn’t returning to the ‘Bourne’ series (because he had to) and now, he’s essentially admitting to it because the cards are all on the table. Yes, Matt Damon is coming back to play Jason Bourne, but it’s complicated (as THR says, “Let’s hope Matt Damon and Jeremy Renner don’t bump into each other at a restaurant.”).

“We’re on two tracks,” Marshall told the trade about the two ‘Bourne’ currently movies in the works. “And if this one [with Damon and Paul…

RUMOR: Obi Wan Kenobi Stand Alone ‘Star Wars’ Film?

RUMOR: Obi Wan Kenobi Stand Alone ‘Star Wars’ Film?
Germain Lussier — Film

As little as we know about Star Wars Episode VII, we know even less about the Star Wars stand-alone films. We know Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank and directing the first two. We’ve heard they may be origin stories and rumors have run rampant of all the various characters that might be featured. Han Solo and Boba Fett are two of the best bets, but Yoda has been mentioned too, possibly a side character in Episode VII and now another name has entered the mix. A new rumor has hit that Lucasfilm is developing an Obi Wan Kenobi stand alone film. Out of all of those rumors, this is the one that…

Well, as you might recall, the plot revolves around a band of young newcomers, along with Han Solo…
