‘The Boxtrolls’ Trailer

‘The Boxtrolls’ Trailer

I have no idea what’s going on here or even if I’m interested. Part of the problem is that while the trailer does a pretty good job of showing us the world, the look, the design, and telling us what people think of boxtrolls, it does very little to tell us what the film is really about, any hint of what the plot might be, or why I might want to go see it.

The things the film has going for it, I suppose, is the fact that it comes from the same filmmakers that made Paranorman, which a lot of people seem to like (I never had a chance to see it).

In any event, the film does look like it could…

‘Maleficent’ Trailer 3 — Here There Be Dragons

‘Maleficent’ Trailer 3 — Here There Be Dragons

If you were waiting for a little bit more DRAGON to spice up your Maleficent trailers, well wait no longer. Your time has arrived! In this awesome new trailer for the film staring Disney’s most evil villain, the scaly beast takes wing and breathes a little fire for us.

We’re all familiar with the classic tale, but this film is looking to put a bit difference spin on things. Making its appearance again is the classic tune, Once Upon a Dream, but with that haunting and hollow feel to it. But in this trailer we get much, much more. I’m not sure where there going with this but I’m certainly…

‘The Incredibles 2’ In Development

‘The Incredibles 2’ In Development
Peter Sciretta — /Film

Disney head Bob Iger dropped a big piece of news offhandedly during the Disney Investor’s Meeting today, stating that Brad Bird is working on the story for The Incredibles 2 and that Pixar is also working on a new Cars movie.

No surprise with the Cars sequel; I’m sure they will continue that franchise until it runs out of gas and stops making them money in toy stores and at theme parks. The Incredibles sequel, on the other hand, is big news, and fans should be excited that Brad Bird is involved.

Well it’s about time! I mean, another Cars film: meh. The Incredibles: SHUT UP AND TAKE MY…

‘Peanuts’ Teaser Trailer

‘Peanuts’ Teaser Trailer

I suppose by some measures of time, it was long overdue for someone to take advantage of this franchise. I can’t say I’m particularly excited about the money machines getting ahold of this one, but I have to say the teaser trailer does definitely get me excited about this film.

I wasn’t, and I’m still not too sure about the idea of a CGI 3D animation of The Peanuts, but I suppose I’ll give it a chance. I mean, IT’S SNOOPY! Look at him! And Good Grief Charlie Brown!

Kermit Tries to Break Out Of Prison — ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ Clip

Kermit Tries to Break Out Of Prison — ‘Muppets Most Wanted’ Clip

I’ve finally seen The Muppets (2011), and it was pretty good. So I’m looking forward all the more to Muppets Most Wanted. There’s not a seriously serious thing about any of The Muppets shows or films and maybe that’s what I like about it — getting away from the seriousness.

In any event, this clip shows us exactly what kind of humor and fun we can expect from Muppets Most Wanted and it looks like a hoot.

Mangold Confirms He’ll Direct Next ‘Wolverine’ Film After ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’

Mangold Confirms He’ll Direct Next ‘Wolverine’ Film After ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’
Lucy O’Brien — IGN.com

The Wolverine director James Mangold has confirmed he will return to direct the sequel, which he will begin shooting after X-Men: Apocalypse opens in cinemas in 2016.

We’ve known for a while that Mangold was in talks to write the treatment for the sequel, but this is the first we’ve heard of his involvement as a director. As is so often the case these days, Mangold dropped the news on Twitter.

That should be fun. The Wolverine was a fairly good film and I was happy with all but the (all important) ending. So bring it on! Exciting stuff happening in the X-Men world.

Avengers Tower Makes Cameo in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

When Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters April 4, be on the look out for Tony Stark’s Avengers Tower. As a hidden Easter Egg.

At the end of The Avengers, the Stark Tower was decimated, leaving only the “A” as a tease of what’s to come. There was also a brief scene where Stark is clearly seen working on an Avengers Tower. In Iron Man 3, Stark never visits New York as he’s plenty busy in California, Tennessee and Florida but that doesn’t mean the tower hasn’t been under construction. Speaking to /Film, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told us the completed tower makes a…

Lupita Nyong’o Up for Role in ‘Star Wars VII’

Lupita Nyong’o Up for Role in ‘Star Wars VII’
Germain Lussier – /Film

Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o has met with, and may sign on for, a key role in J.J. Abrams‘ Star Wars Episode 7. The 12 Years A Slave star reportedly is “extremely close” to playing a role not related to the original trilogy. It may be a Sith or a descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

When calling Nyong’os representatives for comment they said, “We’re not allowed to talk about that.” If there’s a “that,” that’s all we needed to know.

I’ll just leave this right here…

Marvel Won’t Back Down on ‘Baman vs. Superman’ Conflicting Release Date

Marvel Won’t Back Down on ‘Baman vs. Superman’ Conflicting Release Date
Germain Lussier – /Film

On May 6, 2016, Marvel and DC are going head to head at the box office. In one corner is DC’s highly anticipated Man of Steel sequel Batman vs. Superman. In the other corner, an untitled Marvel Phase Three film. Marvel planted their flag on the day in June 2013. Six months later, DC all but challenged them by bumping Zack Snyder’s film to the same date. Many believed Marvel, which have yet to reveal what film will be released that day, would move off the date, scared at competing against two of the biggest superheroes in the world. But, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige,…

Alright Marshmallows, It’s Time! — What To See This Weekend

Alright Marshmallows, It’s Time! — What To See This Weekend

You kickstarted it, you wanted it, you deserve it, and now — provided you live in an area where there is an AMC theater, you’ve got it. The Veronica Mars movie is here, and it looks as good as the series was from what I can tell. And it’s about the only thing new this weekend that’s really worth checking out.

New This Weekend

Veronica Mars — PG-13

If this were playing anywhere near me, and if I was finished watching the series, this would be my film of choice this weekend. Unfortunately neither of those things is true. In order to see this fine looking film, you are going to need an AMC…
