3 TV Spots For Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

3 TV Spots For Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar

It’s Christopher Nolan, and it’s sci-fi, so what could go wrong?

Well given that I don’t think his last two films were up to what I consider the level of his best work, I don’t know what could go wrong. Hopefully nothing. It looks really good and until proven otherwise I’m going to believe it is really good.

The film comes to theaters on November 7.

“For a moment there, I thought it would work out to do ‘Tomorrowland’ and go right into it, [but then I realized] it wouldn’t work,” he explained. “There was no way to make that schedule and give this film the attention it deserved. I know it’s going to be terrific and everything, but I’m really happy to do this film. It’s rare to do a film of this size that’s original.”

Man, if I were a director, I’ve got to tell you that there would be a few opportunities on my list of, “never ever ever ever ever turn down,” and Star Wars would be one of those.

I’m being a little facetious, but I sure…

Noelene Clark – Hero Complex

The upcoming “Harry Potter” spinoff film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” is going to be the first in a film trilogy, and more movies might be on the way.

The movies will be directed by “Potter” veteran David Yates, who directed the latter four films in the eight-part franchise, and will reunite the filmmaking team of David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara said at Time Warner’s investors conference Wednesday.

The “Fantastic Beasts” movies are based on an original story by “Potter” author J.K. Rowling and will mark her…

The Equalizer — Review

3.5 of 5 stars
The Equalizer

Denzel Washington is an interesting actor. He is the son of a Pentecostal minister, but describes himself as a bit rebellious in his teenage years. Then he had a religious experience which he describes as being filled with the Holy Spirit 1, after which time he has been a devout Christian.

Growing up — and even now — I sort of got the impression that his Christianity is often called into question by the more conservative element of the Christian community simply because of the sheer number of R rated films he has been in. From my perspective now, this is silly. In fact, many good and highly…

Kate Beckinsale May Yet Return to the ‘Underworld’ Franchise
Angie Han — /Film

Last month, we got word that Theo James would lead the next Underworld movie and that original star Kate Beckinsale would not be back. But just because she’s not returning for that particular installment doesn’t mean she’s left behind the vamp world for good.

Director Len Wiseman says there are two Underworld movies in development currently, and that one of those could feature Beckinsale. In addition, there’s also an Underworld TV series in the works. Hit the jump for more on the potential Kate Beckinsale Underworldreturn and the possible Underworld TV series.

Wait, I’m confused. Is there…

Dave Bautista Cast As Villain In ‘Bond 24′

Dave Bautista Cast As Villain In ‘Bond 24′
Germain Lussier — Film

Wrestler Dave Bautista is going from Marvel to martinis. The Guardians of the Galaxy star has reportedly been cast as a major henchman named Hinx in Sam Mendes’ Bond 24. The film starts filming in December aimed at a November 6, 2015 release.

When you stop and think about this for a minute, how crazy is that? At least in my mind, the WWE is sort of known for the cheesy acting and terrible, over the top performances. Now the headlines go something like, “WWE wrestler jumpstarts his acting career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then moves on to James Bond villainy.

Mind you, I’m not…

Angie Han — /Film

Well, now we know what all of Robert Downey Jr.‘s vague promises of “plans” and “other stuff” with Marvel were about. The actor is reportedly in final negotiations to joinChris Evans‘ titular hero in Captain America 3.

Even more exciting is what he’ll be doing there: Going head to head with Cap in an adaptation of the Civil War storyline from the comic books.

Well now we know what all the blathering and excitement from Robert Downey Jr. has been about lately.

According to Variety, who got the scoop, Captain America 3 will kick off a whole new phase for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The…

‘Lost In Space’ Reboot To Come From ‘Dracula Untold’ Writers

‘Lost In Space’ Reboot To Come From ‘Dracula Untold’ Writers
Angie Han — /Film

Lost in Space is getting rebooted again. This time, the people doing the rebooting are Legendary TV and writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the scribes behind this weekend’s Dracula Untold.

Irwin Allen‘s TV series ran for 83 episodes across three seasons from 1965 to 1968. Previous efforts to revive the property have included the 1998 movie directed by Stephen Hopkins and a failed 2003 pilot directed by John Woo.

Rebooting Lost In Space with the writers who wrote (what looks like) the stupidest movie of 2014. What could go wrong?

TJ wanted to discuss the new ‘Left Behind’ (starring Nicolas Cage), but since he was out sick, Joe Darnell and Michael Minkoff talk about the film and critique Christian arts at large. As the ‘Left Behind’ film’s description put it, “In a moment, the entire planet is plunged into darkness.” This says a lot about how lame the film is. We believe that true Christianity is largely not practiced by artists, and the Church doesn’t appreciate Christains that produce great art.

‘Stonehearst Asylum’ Trailer

‘Stonehearst Asylum’ Trailer

The fact that I haven’t heard about this film before now tells me it’s probably not any good. It’s also being positioned (at least a little) as a Halloween film — though it did not completely strike me as a film quite of the caliber. Still, I don’t completely trust it. But it does have some good actors in it and looked mildly diverting.

It stars Kate Beckinsale, Jim Sturgess, Brendan Gleeson, Ben Kingsley, and Michael Caine and will debut in cinemas on October 24.
