RUMOR: Hugh Jackman Offered $100 Million for 4 Films

RUMOR: Hugh Jackman Offered $100 Million for 4 Films
Lauren Humphries-Brooks - We Got This Covered

Today is a day for rumors, it seems. This latest one, though, has nothing to do with either Star Wars: Episode VII or the casting of Batman in Batman vs Superman. Instead, there’s a rumor circulating the tubes of the Internet that Hugh Jackman has been offered $100 million to reprise his role as Wolverine in four more Marvel movies.

Say what now? FOUR? Yes, four movies in which Jackman – who has already played the clawed immortal seven times – will reprise the role that he’s most famous for. Now, we’ll grant that this rumor actually comes to us via The National Enquirer, which is not a…

DON’T MISS! All 8 ‘Harry Potter’ Films in HD for $10.00!!!

UPDATED:

The price has jumped up to $60. I wondered… it surely seemed almost like a mistake. I guess it really was. I clicked purchase on mine 20 minutes before the price went up to $60. I’m going to be really upset if Apple actually charges me $60 and not $10. We’ll find out soon enough.

DON’T MISS! All 8 ‘Harry Potter’ Films in HD for $10.00!!!
Apple iTunes

Guys, this seems just a little bit crazy, but right now you can purchase all eight Harry Potter films in HD from the iTunes store for $10.00. No, I’m not kidding, this does not appear to be a joke. Since I only had them in Standard Definition on DVD, I purchased this bundle for $10.00 and it is legit. All eight films are now available in my iTunes account.

This is just too good to be true. I almost wonder if it’s some sort of glitch. In case it is, if you want it you better act now! I know I’ll be enjoying some Harry Potter HD goodness from the comfort of my Apple TV sometime soon!

RUMOR! Ian McDiarmid to Reprise Palpatine in Episode VII?

RUMOR! Ian McDiarmid to Reprise Palpatine in Episode VII?
Jesse Giroux - JoBlo

Jedi News is claiming that a source has told them that Ian McDiarmid will be back as Emperor Palpatine in the new film:

(Do I really need to put a spoiler tag for events from the original STAR WARS trilogy? Well just in case, this is your warning. There’s also details about the STAR WARS expanded universe, so you might want to avoid that too.)

The specifics of the role are unclear, but it seems likely that McDiarmid will be returning to his signature role of Palpatine. Whether as the original or a clone of, we are yet to discern.

I’m not that familiar with the expanded universe for STAR…

Was Christian Bale Offered $50 Million To Reprise Batman?

Was Christian Bale Offered $50 Million To Reprise Batman?
El Mayimbe - Latino Review

Is it possible that Christian Bale is still not done donning the cape the cowl?

According to a new ebook, “Beyond Batman: The Unauthorized True Story of Christian Bale and His Dark Knight Dilemma” this may be the case.

The book cites sources close to Legendary Pictures that asserts Bale may have “no choice” but to don the cowl at least one more time.

According to the publisher of “Beyond Batman,” the Hollywood mega star likely won’t be able to refuse the potential $50 million payday that could come from playing Batman again.

I’m thinking this is a bunch of schlock. I don’t believe it…

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ International Trailer

‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ International Trailer

As a fan of The Hunger Games book series, one of the films I am most looking forward to this year is Francis Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Returning of course are Jennifer Lawrence as Katnis Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark. And we’ll also be introduced to several new cast members, Sam Claflin as Finnick, Lynn Cohen as Mags, Jena Malone as Johanna, Amanda Plummer as Wiress, and Jeffrey Wright as Beetee. If you are familiar with the books, you will recognize these characters. They don’t get much screen time in the trailer, unfortunately, but I would assume we’ll see…

‘Star Wars’ — The News is There is No News

‘Star Wars’ — The News is There is No News
Lindsey Bahr - Entertainment Weekly

Boos and groans greeted news that there was no news.

Fans gathered in the Anaheim Convention Center for Disney’s D23 on Saturday hoping for some sort of tease about the highly anticipated seventh installment of the Star Wars franchise. We were, of course, warned yesterday that there wasn’t going to be any news. But we didn’t expect it to be true.

Ponderous.

‘Now You See Me’ — The Next Trick is a Sequel

‘Now You See Me’ — The Next Trick is a Sequel
Erin Strecker - Entertainment Weekly

For their next trick, the magician heist is getting a sequel.

During a public call this morning, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told analysts that production on the sequel will happen in 2014. A sequel isn’t altogether surprising: Despite little buzz, the Louis Leterrier-directed picture starring Jesse Eisenberg and Isla Fisher has grossed over $275 million worldwide.

Huh. Doesn’t seem warranted to me.

Coming Up in the Pixar World

Coming Up in the Pixar World
Anthony Breznican - Entertainment Weekly

Pixar turned its table lamp on its voice actors for the upcoming films The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out at the Disney fan convention D23.

The equivalent of Disney’s Comic-Con brought new revelations about the plots for the upcoming movies, which feature a dinosaur keeping a toddler human as a pet, a journey inside the workings of the human mind, and a return to the ocean for a sequel to a Pixar classic.

Disney animation czar John Lasseter also showed off footage from the films, and presided over a parade of voice talent.

Among the biggest news was that Pixar’s Finding Nemo sequel…

Rich, Strippers, Drugs, Crop Dusters — Box Office Report, Aug. 12

The future is here, at the box office anyway, and it doesn’t look great. It looks a little like a third world country in fact. Back here in the present however, a stripper, a small time drug deal, and two teenagers are going to rake in a little bit of cash from the onscreen drug deal. And then of course, Dusty Crophopper isn’t really going to get off the ground.

Is the 3D Fad Over? (Please say yes!)

Is the 3D Fad Over? (Please say yes!)
Grady Smith - Entertainment Weekly

Up-charged tickets made up a full 71 percent of Avatar‘s 2009 opening-weekend gross of $77 million, and Alice in Wonderland (70 percent),TRON: Legacy (82 percent), and The Final Destination (70 percent) also got major boosts. Animated family movies have never done as well in the format, but even Toy Story 3 managed 60 percent in 2010. This summer a different tale has unfolded: During the 30-day span from June 21 to July 21, 3-D business hit a new low three separate times (that’s since 2009, when this new golden age began).

Only 31 percent of Monsters University‘s June 21 opening-weekend…
