David Prowse Does Not Like the Prequels

David Prowse Does Not Like the Prequels
Kevin Jagernauth - The Playlist

We might not ever have seen his face, but the man behind the Darth Vader mask has a few things to say about the prequels.

Darth Vader actor Dave Prowse recently let loose on his feelings about George Lucas’ prequels and like many of us, he was kinda bummed out when he saw them. “I didn’t like ‘Star Wars’ I, II and III at all. I think the common opinion now is they were really bad movies,” he told Hull Daily Mail, adding: “There’s no comparison with the original movies. They had a much more believable story.”

I don’t like the prequels any more than any other average Star Wars fan, but I…

‘The Wolverine’ Early Script Draft Featured Rogue

‘The Wolverine’ Early Script Draft Featured Rogue
Mark Langshaw - Digital Spy

The Wolverine screenwriter Mark Bomback has revealed that an early draft of the film’s screenplay featured X-Men team member Rogue.

The scribe said that he wanted to include the mutant - played by Anna Paquin in the original X-Men trilogy - in the story, but scrapped the idea when her involvement became problematic.

“I was trying to do something with Rogue in the script. I even had a set of ideas that the old man [Yashida] possessed a version of Rogue’s power and that was going to be indicated by a white stripe in his hair,” he told CreativeScreenwriting.com.

“Eventually it became very…

‘Iron Man 3’ Deleted Scene and Gag Reel

‘Iron Man 3’ Deleted Scene and Gag Reel

Marvel, start your marketing engines! These two items are the first in what is sure to be a long line of teasers, gag reels, clips, deleted scenes and more from the upcoming Iron Man 3 home video release.

If you’re into all this cool stuff, you’ll probably want to snag your home video copy on September 24.

[SPOILER]

The first is a deleted scene featuring The Mandarin. It’s no wonder it was deleted, though not overt, I think it would have been enough to clue me in that something wasn’t quite right in terms of him as a villian, which would have spoiled the surprise a bit.

And then this…

Join us to Talk about ‘Elysium’ Tonight

Join us to Talk about ‘Elysium’ Tonight

I’ll be joined by Fizz tonight to talk about Elysium, and boy do I have a lot to say. I have two columns in my notes, one side is dislikes, which is filled up, the other side is my likes and it’s almost completely blank. However, I’m given to understand that Mike liked the film, so it should make for some interesting discussion at least.

But you know me, I don’t have any opinion about things so I’ll probably just agree with whatever he says… wait, what?!? Just kidding. That’s the alternate universe me.

Tune in tonight at 8:00 PM for a fun disucssion.

DON’T MISS! All 8 ‘Harry Potter’ Films in HD for $10.00!!!

UPDATED:

The price has jumped up to $60. I wondered… it surely seemed almost like a mistake. I guess it really was. I clicked purchase on mine 20 minutes before the price went up to $60. I’m going to be really upset if Apple actually charges me $60 and not $10. We’ll find out soon enough.

DON’T MISS! All 8 ‘Harry Potter’ Films in HD for $10.00!!!
Apple iTunes

Guys, this seems just a little bit crazy, but right now you can purchase all eight Harry Potter films in HD from the iTunes store for $10.00. No, I’m not kidding, this does not appear to be a joke. Since I only had them in Standard Definition on DVD, I purchased this bundle for $10.00 and it is legit. All eight films are now available in my iTunes account.

This is just too good to be true. I almost wonder if it’s some sort of glitch. In case it is, if you want it you better act now! I know I’ll be enjoying some Harry Potter HD goodness from the comfort of my Apple TV sometime soon!

Back to the Future Stars - Makeup Vs. Reality

Back to the Future Stars - Makeup Vs. Reality

There’s no question that Robert Zemeckis’ 1985 film, ‘Back to the Future’ is a classic. And what’s interesting now is that it is almost 30 years old, which is about how much time there was between 1955 and 1985, the two time periods the film takes place in. Obviously aging makeup was used on Lea Thompson, Crispin Glover, and Thomas Wilson when they were in 1985.

And now we can actually see how well the makeup artists did at making them look 30 years older than they were. I’ve found this comparison picture floating around and wanted to share it with you.

It appears the makeup artists may…

‘The Hollow Crown’ Trailer Featuring Patrick Stewart, Jeremy Irons and More!

‘The Hollow Crown’ Trailer Featuring Patrick Stewart, Jeremy Irons and More!

So, my wife may be the Shakespeare nut in my household, but I have to say I’m looking forward to seeing this one. This thing looks massive, and indeed, it runs over 500 minutes. It’s a BBC series adapted from four Shakespeare plays, Richard IIHenry IV, parts 1 and 2, and Henry V. And it has some pretty big names in it too. Sam Mendes is the producer behind the project, and it stars Tom hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Jeremy Irons, and Ben Wishaw in primary roles.

The word Epic may be extremely overused these days, but I think the word can be pretty fairly applied to this one.

This being a…

Loki Might Appear in ‘Agents of SHIELD’

Loki Might Appear in ‘Agents of SHIELD’
Fred Topel - CraveOnline

After the “Hollow Crown” session, the TCA couldn’t help ask Hiddleston if he would be open to reprising his Thor and Avengers role of Loki in an episode of the “S.H.I.E.L.D.” series. Whedon told us yesterday that he would consider asking Marvel movie stars to do episodes if it makes sense for the story. Hiddleston agreed.

“It would be something that would depend upon script and story but yeah, of course,” said Hiddleston.

And this right after I said on the Podcast last night (episode coming up to be posted very soon this morning) that I didn’t think we would see much, if any, Marvel movie…

‘Thor: The Dark World’ U.K. Trailer

‘Thor: The Dark World’ U.K. Trailer

So it seems like Loki is going to play a pretty big part in this film. And Jane’s life is still in question, but Thor promises he’s going to find a way to save us all!

I didn’t think the first Thor film was that great, but I’m really looking forward to this one, it looks like it should be excellent. This will be the second installment in the Marvel, Phase Two story (the first was Iron Man 3) and it’s all leading up, of course, to The Avengers: The Age of Ultron, which I couldn’t be more excited about. This is a good time for Marvel!

Thor: The Dark World makes it’s debut on October 30th in…

Del Torro Wanted Charlie Day to Be Villain in ‘Pacific Rim 2’

Del Torro Wanted Charlie Day to Be Villain in ‘Pacific Rim 2’
Charlie Schmidlin - The Playlist

Talking with Crave Online (via Shock Til You Drop), Day touched on his early meetings with Del Toro about the project, and the director’s overall plans for his nerdy scientist character, Newt. “[He] liked the idea of Newt becoming a bit of a villain in the second film,” Day said. “But, I think over the course of making the film, and the way the character resonated with the audience, I don’t think he would want to turn him into a villain now.” In the original, Day collaborated with co-worker Hermann Gottlieb (Burn Gorman) to discover the prime weakness of the Kaiju, and help bring them… Read The Rest
